    HOTEL KRONE LIMMATQUAI
    My major complaints about my stay were not about lack of amenities or such (I'm not picky at all and was expecting a pretty basic room); it was the lack of cleanliness in the room and serious issues with the general state of repair in the room. I didn't expect a lot, just a simple but decent room... but this was simply unacceptable. A few marks, chips, stains, etc., would be understandable, but the room appeared as though it had not been painted, maintained, or even thoroughly cleaned in over a couple years. It appeared that the only cleaning that ever happens was changing the sheets and maybe a vacuuming of the floor (in the room the bed was ok, the carpet/floor was ok, and that's about it). Among other things, the bathroom was deplorable (dirt stains on the tub and shower curtain and dirty walls), the room walls were dirty, the room had a funky smell (keeping the windows open helped), and the 2nd floor often seriously reeked of cigarette smoke (very strong smell, not just merely noticeable). The tragic thing is that this could easily be a basic yet very decent hotel, if only the management did a better job of cleaning and upkeep. Until they do that, though, I recommend staying away. The good location alone is simply not worth it....More
