Southern Palms Beach Club
Southern Palms is a classic, 50's era plantation-style beach front hotel. It shows its age somewhat, but gracefully. If you want a great location, friendly staff, large rooms, but do not need exquisite, luxury accomodations, Southern Palms is for you. It's location in the middle of the St. Lawrence Gap (lots of restaurants, bars, stores within walking distance) makes it ideal. Time Out At The Gap
I didn't want to complain too much because of the price, which was great for location and stay. However, the room was very old and dingy looking(needs paint and upgrade). The staff was nice, however didn't give wash clothes and hand towels without a fuss. This is a brand new, elegantly furnitshed and well appointed hotel in a quiet spot on the southernmost tip of Barbados. The beach is wonderfully breezy - you can watch the paragliding and windsurfing action - and the restaurant is good, and uses local ingredients. The staff is friendly and obliging.
