    Marina Palace Hotel
This hotel is in a great location and in a safe area. The hotel room could be updated slightly. However, there are some newer rooms and floors so i would suggest to ask for a newer room. Ohterwise, the included breakfast is great and the customer service is outstanding....More

    ATLANTIS COPACABANA HOTEL
I liked this hotel for three main reasons. First, the location is incredible. It's 5 minutes walking from Copacabana and Ipanema beach. The walk is safe and simple, although at night I would not recommend walking around alone. Second, the hotel was clean. I booked this hotel anticipating a small dingy room like many of the hotels I booked in most of Europe having backpacked there a couple years ago. However, the linens smelled quite fresh, the hardwood floors were spotless, and the bathroom was well maintained. Third, the rooftop pool area was quite nice. The pool is about 10 ft x 10 ft, but there is a "jacuzzi" type section as well. There are some tables and chairs and a bar during the day. The best part about the roof however is the view. It looks right out onto Copacabana beach and onto the ocean. The building is relatively tall. Finally, I liked the breakfast. It was simple with hot eggs and sausages (hot dogs) but there were also fresh breads, meats, cheeses, and juices. The service was good overall, but some shifts were less cooperative than others. Overall, I'd go back to this place in a second. TIPS: 1) Book the place online because if you go there and book it, the rates are significantly more (almost double) 2) There's a big mini fridge in the room to fill up with drinks and food so expect to go shopping for snacks (go to Zona Sol Market down the street, 1,05R water!)...More
