Guanahani Village
After reading the reviews I was a little worried. But the hotel has been seriously updated since the reviews.
First it's not really a hotel, but a resort.
The first night we arrived there was a managers welcome dinner. Free! They had local food for us to try, a dance contest and prizes. Of course the children always win (it's a rule.)
The staff was amazingly friendly and warm. By the time we left, we honestly felt like we had a new family there.
The rooms are being refurbished. The older ones we saw weren't even that bad, but the refurbished ones were amazing. There was so much room in those units, I could easily live there with my family of 6.
The pool was great, and the beach was amazing, and the view. Well, the view is to die for.
The local bus system was amazing making this place fantastically convenient. Ask about how the local bus system works. I wish they had something like that in the US. I'd use it all the time, and I never ever take the bus....More

The Reef Atlantis
The Atlantis is a great family hotel. Tons of waterslides and many pools. Crystal clear beaches. Water activities on site. The Reef is a few minutes walk from the main part of the hotel (but is still on site and a free hotel shuttle is available) and is right next to the upscale Cove Atlantis tower. The Reef doesn't have a restaurant or gift shop but it has a Starbucks and Sundries with small grocery items. The best food in the resort is at the Cove tower. All the rooms are apartment style with a lot of space and a kitchen in each room. The 1 bedroom suite is very big and has 2 full bathrooms and a pull-out sofa in the separate living room. Try to get an ocean view, the harbor view isn't that nice. The service at The Reef is horrible. The maid walked in without knocking, the room service is fast but the food isn't great, and the hotel operator constantly transfers calls to personal voicemails when you're trying to reach the front desk. If service isn't a big decision-maker for you then I would definitely recommend this hotel....More
