Nassau Palm Hotel
the hotel in its appearance was not satisfactory. the restaurant in the hotel had terrible service and it was overpriced. The towels were not soft to use but hard and rough. the rug in the room was stained and should be changed as well as the bed spread. The hot water and water pressure was not sufficient. I had to call the desk to complain about it. I did not take a decent shower while there. the phone did not work properly either and someone had to come and fix that. The hotel clerks were not friendly and as cordial as I haver experienced. The housekeeping staff who serviced my room was pleasant and did her job with the resources she had. For what I was charged, the hotel was a disappointment. The only thing positive about it for me was that I could walk to town from that location. The color od the hotel is also hideous and should be changed as well as the interior of the hotel....More

Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort
We stayed here from May 12th-17th. The hotel lobby, grounds and rooms were beautifully decorated. The staff was generally nice, friendly and helpful. There is a casino a short walk east to the Wyndham which we visited quite a bit. They had no hold'em games and only one multi-deck and one single deck $10 black jack table (the rest $15 and up.) The casino at the Atlantis on Paradise Island was larger and nicer with friendlier dealers but what can I say, we were only 5 minutes from gambling at any time! The pool area was nice and relaxing. The crowd was mostly couples of varying age, a few with small kids and a few singles. We ate at Amici at the Sheraton. Entree's were from $20-40 but the food was quite forgettable. We ate at two restaurants, Miso and Angus Steakhouse, next door at the Wyndham both had quite good food. Other good dining experiences were the Brussels Brasserie (just off the main walk on Frederick St., all local business people eating there) and Nobu in the Atlantis.)
You can catch a small bus (called Jitneys) just outside that will take you downtown for only a dollar per person. They come very regularly every 10 minutes or so and take about 20-25 minutes to get downtown, depending on traffic. From there you can get on a ferry for $3 a head to Paradise Island. Great shopping in either location.
About halfway towards town, you can get off at the "fish fry," where there is a huge row of restaurants with decent food and relatively reasonable prices. I would definitely try the conch fritters. There is a cute little zoo a 10 minute walk south of the fish fry that we visited and enjoyed (bring quarters for the petting zoo!) Bahamian money is based on the US dollar and interchangeable. Your US money is quite welcome there. Also remenber that almost all restaurants will automatically add 15% gratuity so keep an eye on the bill. There is no sales tax though!...More
