Hotel Alba
Hotel Alba is in a very good location in Sunny Beach. A bit difficult to find, due to a number of streets being closed up to become parking lots. It's definately a place you don't want to wander around by car, but we had to since we had all of our luggage. The service at the hotel was better than hotels at other locations in Bulgaria. Maybe due to the fact that Sunny Beach is mostly a place for foreign travellers who have higher expectations from the service compared to the locals. The rooms were fairly basic, but pretty big size, with big balconies overlooking the promenade street and the Black Sea. Twin size beds like all of the hotels we stayed in in Bulgaria, so we were already used to it. No soap/shampoo/lotion, etc. bottles in the bathrooms, not just our room, every room. Not sure what that was about, and apparently they think that one towel per guest is all you need... All in all, it was ok. And definately worth it for the price I paid. Next time I'll probably search for another hotel though, maybe a little more fancy, Sunny Beach is the kind of place that makes you want to splurge a little bit :)...More

Sofia Plaza
One good thing about this hotel is that there is a rail stop in front of it, which makes it relatively easy to travel to other areas of Sofia. Sofia is not a vacation destination. You can still feel the post-Communist affect on this city. However, there was a great farmers market, beautiful pottery, and good food. The hotel was okay overall. The neighborhood is questionable....More
