Oyster Bay Beach Resort
Last week stayed at OBBR and really enjoyed it. We were told that we would only have internet connection on the patio and not in the room, but our room was near the reservation desk and the reception was great. If you want to have an internet connection in the room ask for a room in the hotel section. The rooms are just a little small but has a nice bath, small HD TV. The hotel is a little out of the way but we liked that. It's near the French border. We went to Orient Beach, Marigot and had lunch in Grand Case at Fish Pot. It was a little pricey but if you paid in cash the exchange rate was 1 to 1. Mr. Bsby's for breakfast was nothing special, but they did have Carib beer from 11-1 for $1/bottle. Then after 1:00 it goes to $2/bottle until 4:00. We had dinner at Big Fish which was very good. One night just we bought a bottle of wine, cheese, and bread at Mom and Pop's Market next to Big Fish and ate on the patio/bar at the hotel. Since OBBR also has timeshares, we were afraid of being bothered by salespeople but that wasn't the case. The pool at OBBR is very nice and there is a very good beach. We also drove to the Westin which is very near to go to the casino. If you want a nice hotel that's not too crowded and a little out of the way, then I would recommend OBBR....More
