Very Poor Service!!

They hotel staff was extremely unhelpful and rude. They put us in a room with one king bed even though I was told when I contacted the hotel early in the morning that I was guaranteed to have two doubles. When we asked what we were to do (we had 4 people), the clerk told us he would bring us blankets so we could sleep on the floor...haha. I thought he was joking but he wasn't. The manager was no help either. Our other guests that arrived later than us waited for over an hour past the "guaranteed" check in time before they were able to get into their room. Would strongly recommend going to another hotel. There are plenty of better options in the local area.

Good room; Close to many large entitites UPMC, Univ. of Pitt.

Close to many large entities such as UPMC, Univ. of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University. Many college type restaruants within walking distance On Forbes Ave. but not much that is of higher end dining. Convenient to access 396 so can be a good 'base' hotel if working surrounding areas of Pittsburgh.

Clean, friendly, convenient location for Pitt.. great price!

Took my daughter to visit Pitt. Perfect location! Valet parking, comfortable room, friendly staff. Got a very good price on Hotels.com but Pitt has a discount also.

Needs Improvement

The lobby of the hotel looks very nice but once you enter the room you get disappointed. Small room and the cleanliness needs to be improved.

Excellent value and convenience

I stayed at the hotel while my daughter did her Pitt Start for the University of Pittsburgh and was impressed. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The hotel is a short walk and very convenient to the University and I would recommend it to all parents.

Needs Improvement

The hotel was close to the University of Pittsburgh but they did not do a good job of cleaning the room. They left trash on the floor after emptying the garbage can. They also forgot to put toilet paper in the room. Also, they charged me not once but twice for my hotel stay even though my stay was prepaid and the only thing they could say, was sorry. Didn't offer to credit my account any quicker than the 72 hours offered especially after making the same mistake twice. I could deal with the $17 valet parking, but I think that price is a little too steep especially after paying the price for the hotel. However, I must admit that I felt that my car was safe and it was returned without any dents.

Needs a complete renovation

The hotel is convenient to the university. We spent 2 nights there one on each leg of a trip elsewhere. Considering the price paid we expected much more. Each room has a very loud air conditioner, so loud that each time it goes on and off at 15 min intervals you wake up. Without it, the room is so stuffy you can't breathe. Lights in the room were so dim you couldn't do anything. TV received a few basic channels..

Good Place to Stay Overnight in Pittsburgh

The university neighborhood is a great place to stay--good organic restaurants and a few independent coffee shops. The hotel is well located but it was noisy on the street from cars and garbage pickup in the morning. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful. A good place to lay over in Pittsburgh. I am not sure I would want to stay for more than a night or two. The room was very basic. Similar to the style of a Days Inn or such.
