Nice Hotel, BUT...

The hotel was in the middle of construction, which was very disruptive. Our room had construction going on the other side of THREE of our walls, and the ceiling! We were disturbed with hammering and noise at 7:30 AM! Then we were charged, unexpectedly, extra "city taxes" and a "tourist fee"- ridiculous! The one restarant lacked proper service. We sat at a table for breakfast for almost 10 minutes before someone greeted us! Then our server, whom we saw once, went on break and was replaced by another absentee! I understand making improvements to a hotel, but they should not have hosted anyone on the floors where the construction was goin on. The front desk was bombarded with complaints!!

Remodeled rooms look great, but bed sucks beyond belief!

My wife and I stayed at the Palm Springs Wyndham the weekend of August 2nd, 2009. We had stayed there before and knew that it was a little worn, but was a good value. We heard they were renovating the hotel and they gave us one of the new rooms (#5245, I believe). The room was very cool looking with a flat screen tv and a work desk that was wired into the tv with every connection you could think of (be sure to bring a dvd player with you if you have kids). The only thing wrong was that the bed was absolutley no different than sleeping on a slab of concrete and I am not kidding here! I asked someone about the bed, thinking it was leftover from before the renovation, but was told the owner picked out the model of the bed himself and the P.O. had been cut and beds for all of the rooms had been delivered and were sitting in a warehouse! In this day and age when the hotel room is all about how confortable the bed is, I was blown away as to how rock hard this king size bed was! This hotel has a big pool, which is cool, but we did not eat here, so I can't review the food.

Pleasant Staff and Nice Hotel

We went to Palm Springs for a wedding, and we had a great time at this hotel. The pool was nice, the pillows were soft, and our room was great with the price we paid. The food at the restaurant wasn't great, but overall, we would stay here again. The staff was extremely pleasant and helped us with everything we needed. Our only issue was that someone before us thought it was funny to put coffee in the iron. My boyfriend was ironing his wedding attire, the iron started to smell like coffee and it stained his shirt. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but not very nice.

The hotel has a nice property and the room was quiet and clean. The staff seemed nice but not overly interested in their guests. The pool was also very nice. Considering it was a holiday weekend there were not that many people around. I would absolutely stay there again on my next visit to Palm Springs.

A Good Hotel

It was under construction when I was there so it was kinda loud throughout my stay but overall without the construction its a good hotel, it'll probably be better after construction work is over.

Unbelievable Harassment

I have stayed with this hotel in the past but after this weekend I will never stay with them again. It was awful. We were harassed the entire time. I purchased a drink at the bar inside of the hotel and was not able to take it into the pool area with a receipt. I was asked what kind of beer it was and how much I had paid for it. The security even called the bar to see if I had purchased it from there. We weren't even allowed to take our own water by the poolside. Every thing needed to be purchased from the poolside waitress who would take 30 minutes to bring you the half melted drink you ordered. We were continuously harrassed about wearing hotel wristbands which we were told we can wear on your ankles instead of our wrists. The same hotel employee asked six times where my wristband was. He made me get out of the pool to show him my ankle. It was not relaxing at all.

Needs Improvement

Pool should be maintained or cleaned a lot better. The room was located too far from the elevator and vending or ice machines. I have stayed in this hotel years before this time and it was excellent. I was disappointed to see it go so far downhill.
