WooGo Central Park - Tempo Apartments

Great price for a great room!

For an overnight stay, my friend and I had an amazing room! The view was great, the room was clean and it was spacious! A double bed, sofa bed, and a small kitchenette that included pots, pans, mugs, glasses! Our only complain was that we couldn't stay longer to actually take advantage of the perks. The metro was about 30 seconds (or less, we are slow walkers!) away. Before making the reservation, I read the reviews and noticed that most people complained about not having a plasma tv. If that is your "complain", then stay at home! New York City has to be enjoy. The hotel was great and the people at the lobby were great with us.

The Bed Sucks

First thing that made me realize how old the hotel is, is the fact that they still use keys lol, not that that matters at all, but when you look for a "hotel" (place to sleep) you expect at least a good bed. The bed was hard and very noise, if I wasn't so tired it would be hard to fall asleep.

"We would stay again"

This was our first trip to NYC and as far as the apartment/hotel goes, we had a wonderful location (2 blocks from train station), nice neighborhood, friendly people, very clean/cute room. The only negative I can think of was the air in the bedroom. When we went to sleep everything was fine but then we woke up around 3am because it started blowing hot air and we had to open the window. Would certainly stay there again!

apartment converted to hotel

this was a last minute booking which turned out fabulous. this "hotel" is an apartment building and they have converted some of the rooms/floors into hotel units. they are spacious, clean and comfortable. having a kitchen was such a bonus, cause you don't have to eat ALL of your meals out, which can get expensive in ny. there are 3 grocery stores within a few blocks of the place, so getting breakfast / lunch foods is really easy. i was traveling with my 9 month old and cleaning bottles, storing milk etc...was easy plus he was able to sleep in the spacious closet, which worked out great. there is no real concierge so if you are not familiar with the city and want to do tourist things - this neighborhood may not be the most ideal for sightseeing or walking around (there are not many attractions nearby, but they are a short train ride away). however, central park is within walking distance. this place felt like i had my own apartment for the week, (which i liked) - rather than the feel of staying in a hotel (there are no "hotel perks" i.e. no towel service, daily bed making etc..) but i used to live in the city, so it was easy for me. the only negative would be the tv situation, it only had about 6 basic channels, but it did have a DVD player, so you could bring your own movies, however, in ny you don't spend too much time in your room, so it's not that big of a deal.

Nice surprise

Wasn't expecting much considering the price but turned out to be a good deal. Like a small studio apt with coffee maker, microwave, etc. Style is modern and clean. No real hotel services but fine with me. Two issues they should address. The blinds were broken and filthy. Surprising since the rest of the room looked new and clean. Also, the lock on the door is flimsy and didn't feel secure.

Perfect

I was very pleased with the hotel! The room was adequately spacious for a New York styled apartment, the furishings were simple and clean, and the kitchenette was a nice convienence. The location couldn't have been better, stpes from the Subway and a few blocks from Central Park, you didn't even need to spend anytime in the room! There was not much to offer in means of services, so if you need fresh towels everyday and hotel concierge, this is not the place for you. For me, I couldn't have been happier having a comfortable and resonably priced resting place inbetween all of the many New York activities!

Perfect location, small rooms for a high price!

The location close to Broadway and Central Park are perfect. Also very close to a subway station. But my room was very small, nothing new, not really clean and the cost-/performance ratio was not good.

Experience NY living

Room was not as the image on the website; however, the room was great if you want to experience living in NYC. In other words, if you want to experience what a typical single unit is like then try this Woogo.

Nice hotel, nice location, good price

It is a good option in NYC, The room had a nice view. It doesn't have a lot of services like a hotel it is more like you rent an apartment in NYC, but I liked it.

Amazing deal for a quick stay

I needed a 1-night stay that was close to the southwest corner of Central Park. The location of this place was perfect. I also got an incredible last-minute deal since I booked the day before I left. The lobby is clean, nice and modern. My room was very small and minimalist, but clean. The mattress wasn't very comfortable - I could feel the metal bars of the bed frame on my back. But other than that the room was adequate. There are limited guest services since the place is ostensibly an apartment building, and does not provide 24-hour hotel service. This was totally fine with me since I was only staying 1 night and didn't require room service of any kind. However, the front desk of the apartment building was available during the hours the hotel was closed in case I needed anything. Given the price I paid and the location, I am very satisfied with my experience at the Tempo Apartments.
