Great room for the money

This room was perfect for us. Very clean and the price was great. Right across the street from Universal!

Needs Improvement

Upon checking into our room we notice a strong floral scent; it was so powerful it gave me a headache. The reception desk informed us that it was a cleaning solvent the hotel used and ALL the rooms smelled of it. The next thing we noticed was an abundance of hair in our new hotel bathroom. Finally, the free breakfast had NO flavor at all. We won't be returning to this hotel again.

worth the money

it was a nice hotel and in prime location for the parks. The jacuzzi was very nice but if you are wanting a good breakfast look else where, the buffet was LESS than desirable. Overall, worth the money, plenty of places to eat breakfast close by.

NON-SMOKERS BEWARE!!

NON-SMOKERS BEWARE!! I have always been pleased with Hotels.com and have never had a problem getting the room I booked until 10/24/09 and the Wingate by Wyndham Universal. As always, I book non-smoking rooms for myself and my child. Again, this hasn't been a problem through Hotels.com until now. When we arrived, the desk clerk insisted I'd booked smoking rooms even though I had my print out from Hotels.com with me stating otherwise. The manager rudely explained that "you don't get what you want" when you book through Hotels.com and they could only accomodate us with a smoking room. When I complained he stated I could go somewhere else. Being a Hallowscream weekend, I knew that would be tough and we were due to meet friends in an hour. When I stated I had no choice but to accept the room, but that I would express my dissatisfaction in my review, he asked why I would do that since I know when booking with Hotels.com, I am not guaranteed to get what I booked and paid for. I explained that just as it is right to refuse to accomodate me with the room I booked, it was mine to let all the other non-smokers out there know about this experience. Needlesss to say, the room had a horrible smoker's odor and the hallway leading to the room reeked of the same! Beware my fellow non-smokers.....don't stay here!!!

clean and easy to get to staff was friendly. We had one problem and it was taken care of immediately

Second time staying. Good location, clean, nice staff and a nice place for the money. Free breakfast and free Wi-fi is very nice.
