Trip Type: Not Provided Review 16 of 269Average Hotel
This met my expectations. Had a problem with the first room's a/c, but the hotel quickly moved us into a better room.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 17 of 269Good, but noisy on street side
The room was nice and clean, but we were on the Wilshire street side which was very noisy. Loud trucks were heard all night long.

Trip Type: Family Review 20 of 269Should have paid attention to other reviews
My husband said he has stayed at places that others gave a bad review and it was fine... This was not the case. The lobby is beautiful and it stops there. Rooms are old, carpet worn & dirty, water marks on ceiling, mildew in bathroom, tv options terrible. We were taking a quick family vacation to Universal Studios and were trying to save money. Wish we had spent more...

Trip Type: Family Review 22 of 269Great room for the money
What I like in this hotel is that the location is accessible to almost everywhere you want to go. You don't need to rent a car. The subway is just right accross the hotel. My family and I was able to go to the mall in downtown, to Hollywood, to China Town by just using the subway. If you want to go to the airport you can just take the subway and a Fly away bus. Staying at Wilshire Plaza Hotel makes it easier for me to roam around LA at less expense in transportation. It's good to know that being our first time in LA make it easier for us to go around the city because we choose a hotel that is in the right location.

Trip Type: Business Review 23 of 269Needs improvement
The elevator was old and scary. Made terrible noises and was very slow. Rooms outdated. Cottage cheese cealings had dirty stains, and carpet was stained. Faced a busy street. You go to sleep listening to the sounds of Wilshire Blvd all night long.

Considering the price, the hotel was passable.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 26 of 269Very Nice!!
Over all, this was an outstanding hotel. The employees were quite plesant, & the vallet service was excellent! I wish hotels.com would have made it known to me when I reserved the room, that management does not allow a cot in double standard rooms. Other than the carpet in the room being so dirty, I highly recomend this hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 28 of 269Outdated and dirty
The hotel has not been updated for some time. The fixtures appear to date back to the 1960s. Moreover, the hotel is not properly maintained. The ceiling in my hotel room, in the bathroom and in the hallway was riddled with water stains and what appeared to be mold. The entire hotel room smelled of rotten eggs and sewage. While the staff was generally courteous, the actual building was entirely uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 29 of 269Extremly Uncomfortable Bed
Let me start out by saying this hotel is beautiful, and the employees are great. However if you are looking for a comfortable bed to sleep in this is not for you. It was the worst bed I have ever slept in. Other than that make sure you double check all information the front desk gives you. they were extremly helpful and we were very greatfull for that however the times places opened were way off. If they got new beds I would definatly go back...

Trip Type: Special Event Review 30 of 269Great Service, Noisy Location
The service was awesome, but the room was very cold. It was also very noisy - you can hear all of the sounds of the big city while you are trying to sleep. There is also no self parking, so there is a $20 valet fee that you are not told about until check-in time.
