Very Basic

The most striking thing at first was the lack of telephones and televisions in the rooms. No cell phone service (to be expected, considering remote location) so had to use pay phone in hall. Rooms are rather small and buildings are old but relatively clean. Lacks air conditioning, but the extreme northern climate makes it unnecessary most of the year; fan in room was sufficient. Staff was very helpful. Attached restaurant served decent meals, and it had a nice cocktail lounge and gift shop (though the hours of the latter could have been better). It served my purposes OK for a one-night stay on my way elsewhere, and considering its location (a very small town in Canada's Yukon about 20 miles from the US/Alaska border), one is not likely to stay more than one night anyway. Just don't expect more than the basics.
