Very comfortable room, but pricey other items

Claims there is parking, parking is a 5 minute walk unless you valet, which is $24 per night. Movies are $15. Rooms were extremely comfortable, hotel is beautiful, view from window was amazing!!!

Not what you'd think for a Westin

The hotel is older and not what you'd expect from a Westin. They clean it up nicely, put their comfy beds, put bathrobes in the bathrooms, but the overall appearance is rather shabby. The pool was not the cleanest, either. But staff and service are excellent, the bar was relaxing and a lot of fun, and the location is great! I think this Westin is a refurbished hotel that used to be something else, so they did well with what they are working with.

Dirty and disgusting!!

The hotel was really dirty, with remains of hair from the previous guest all over the bathroom. The surfaces have not been cleaned for a long time judging from the amount of dust on everything. In the morning I told the guy from the front desk what my room was like and he seemed mortified by it and said that would send someone to take care of it immediately. When we came back by the end of the day they have not changed the bed (that I have specifically requested) nor cleaned the hair, or dusted the room. The carpet on the corridors was nasty. It is a shame that a nice, new hotel is kept in such horrible conditions. It was really disgusting. At first I thought I had bad luck, that the maid was in a bad mood and didn't clean the room very well, but when I saw that they did nothing after I have complained I realized that it is just a bas hotel with a worse housekeeping. After that I looked at the reviews on Trip advisor and it just reassured what I have concluded, it is not a good place to stay. Tampa has a lot of better hotels in the same price range. The hotel is very modern and seems to be new, what usually means that it might be clean. Unfortunately for me, that was not the case.

Everything was Fabulous

The hotel was wonderful !! You could tell the hotel was an older hotel but everthing has been kept up with. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. They did everything to make sure we had a pleasant stay. They even printed us out directions to various places during our stay. They offer different things every night in the lobby. While we were there friday night they offered complimentry mojitos and thursday night they had free Wii in the lobby. The rooms were a bit small but very clean. Over all they made our stay wonderful and we will definitely being staying here again.

Outstanding Westin Hotel

Excellent location near the Convention Center. View of a canal w/yachts docked all along, crews rowing in the canal, walked to excellent Italian Restaurant. Room was exceptionally comfortable with top drawer amenities including a large TV. Beautiful grounds & pool. Top Drawer!

Room for improvement

For a four star hotel rating, I expected the room to be a bit more comfortable. The mattresses are pretty hard, the sheet stiff. The ad for my room said 2 chairs would be in the room and there was 1. The minibar had only beer, soda and snacks, that were priced outrageously.

Pretty good, but . . .

The hotel was pretty comfortable and the check-in desk and those who staffed it were very nice, efficient and accommodating. What struck me as odd, was that all of the beverage vending machines were sold out. Also, the bar at the pool was closed the whole weekend we were there (and we had stellar weather), except that it opened on Sun. afternoon just as we were checking out. The elevators took for ever and they looked shabby, but thankfully they got us up and down.
