    I spent a lovely day in Washington Square. The people at the front desk were helpful. The room was small but fine. Given the fact that all decent hotels are going to cost more here than in most other places i am very content with this hotel.

Located in the center of Greenwich Village (N.Y.), the historic Washington Square Hotel is within four blocks of the famed Blue Note, Comedy Cellar and the Village Underground. The hotel is across from historic Washington Square.

The Art Deco hotel, built in 1902 and expanded in 2002, features a re-created original façade, while mosaic artworks by co-owner Rita Paul adorn inside walls. The hotel's North Square Restaurant and Lounge specializes in American cuisine with Central American and Asian touches and features 127 international wines.
