Trip Type: Not Provided Review 16 of 85A definite value
This is a bare bones hotel experience, but if you're only in your room to sleep you can't beat the prices.

Trip Type: Family Review 17 of 85Undergoing renovation
The hotel was undergoing renovation and caused a lot of noise while removing tiles. Also, the first rooms shown to us had not been upgraded and were unsatisfactory (dirty, worn out, etc), however the desk clerk was able to give us a satisfactory room. We did not recei ve some kitchen items until the last day of our stay even though we requested them several times.

We stayed at the Aqua Waikiki Marina on a layover on our way to Maui. The staff was very helpful in pointing us to a variety of activities (lots of characters on the main drag of Waikiki on Halloween) to occupy our time prior to our flight to Maui. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the main shopping in Waikiki and a 5 minute walk from the Ala Moana Mall.

The lobby and the office are funky. thats probably because they are a privateley owned cond0 complex. I was traveling with my boter and asked for two full or queen beds. i found out when we got there ther are only studio rooms with kitchenettes and a queen size bed and all rooms appeared to have ocean view. they gave us two rooms for the price of one . I believe if i was traveling with a wife or girlfriend we would have only gooten one. You figure it out had we not got the two rooms i would have been bummed and tis review would have a completely diffrent tone to say the least. not for families good for people on the go and the price was right . the pool was small and in the shade all day but, hey, u are in hawaii.the elevators are slow, but i would still request between 20th and 40th floor because the view is great and u are above the construction and street noise that goes on on kam hgwy. ask for a recently remodeld room . the air conditiong wasaverage at best . other than that two kitchenettes two rooms and two bathrooms and two airconditioners for 100.00 a nite was great value after th 30% off deal taht hotels.com was running will keep me coming back to hotels.com and hawaii....

Trip Type: With Friends Review 20 of 85good for the price
the aqua marina was a very good deal for the price. There are no frills (except free internet if you bring your laptop and a cable). There was a bed, a window AC, and a tv with cable. If you are not fussy, and likely not in the room much any ways, this may be the place for you :)

The hotel staff was great. The elevators were a little frustrating. It wants you to use your room key card but it is very tempermental on how you insert it. If you get a green light then your alright to punch in your floor number. If you get a red light then you have to reinsert your card. Getting a new card does ot help this process. It is just trial and error to be able to get back up to your room. lol. The rooms were clean but very outdated. For the price we paid it was a good value. We were never in our rooms but to sleep anyway. We were there Sept 08

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 25 of 85Very nice room for the rate charged.
This was a well kept, clean room at an affordable price. Has a decent view from the upper floors. If you're looking for a nicer room than this, you'll have to dig a lot deeper in your wallet.

Trip Type: Family Review 27 of 85Clean, Comfortable
Our room was clean, comfortable. It is somewhat older building and there was renovation going on in the hallway outside our room. The crew was always courteous and considerate to us when we needed to pass by. Front desk was very pleasant and helpful when we needed directions, etc. Parking garage lanes are tight and spaces not easily accessed. We had to ask for bath cloths 3 days (out of 8) because they did not leave any one day and only one on 2 days. There were none available - we were told Laundry had not come in those days. Everyone was smiling and attentive. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

Trip Type: Family Review 29 of 85Kamaaina lodging.
Basically, the upside is the location for kamaainas. Malahinis stay away. It's not in the Waikiki action. Available and competitive parking was an added consideration. Although, I decided last minute against a rental. It's nearly like accommodating another person in expense. We surely did well with the mass transit which runs on schedule considering a laid back city. It turned out to be a good way to meet people, local and tourist. Like the previous review, get a visitor's pass and ride. The downside for me has to be the maid service. I was skipped the following day. Didn't seem to get it right till the day before departure. What was worse was that we were a family of three and our reservation booked nonetheless. There's no way it should have without clarification, because the beds are only suitable for one adult. We ended up renting a rollaway to satisfy our needs. The additional expense here may give you incentive to shop around more. To restate, the rooms are suitable for two. I did not regret the added expense for the view.
