    The hotel is set as a beautiful Villa with spectacular views, the staff was great and very helpful. Our room was basic for such a high end hotel with carpet that was stained. The worst was in the week+ we were in europe it had the absolute WORST bed I slept in. The sad thing is the public rooms were exceptional, and the restuarant must be a five star because it was the best meal we had on our trip. someone at this hotel please wake up!

    The Principe Leopoldo is a very nice place to stay in Lugano, Switzerland. Every member of the staff is very friendly and helpful with every one of your needs. The front desk people went out of their way to be very helpful. The breakfast that is included is very well presented in a sunny room as well as outdoor seating, with very delicious breakfast food of the region and custom. I would stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it to others.

Location. The Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel & SPA is housed in a villa built in 1868 and also has a modern annexed residence. The main villa overlooks Lake Lugano and is two and a half kilometres from the centre of Lugano. Lake Como is 15 kilometres from the hotel and Bellinzola's Castles, included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, are 25 kilometres away. Lugano railway station is two and a half kilometres from the hotel and Lugano Airport is 5.5 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 10 minutes.

Hotel Features. Set in pretty gardens overlooking Lake Lugano, the hotel boasts two outdoor heated swimming pools and two tennis courts. Other recreational facilities include a sauna, solarium and whirlpool, and a fitness room with a range of cardio-vascular equipment. The Restaurant Principe Leopoldo offers Swiss and Italian dishes in a lavishly decorated setting with marble floors, and breakfast and light lunches are on offer at The Limonaia, which has stunning views over Lake Lugano and a terrace for outdoor dining. Italian and regional cuisine is on offer at Caffe Leopoldo. Public areas are air-conditioned and have wireless Internet, and complimentary newspapers are available in the lobby. There are five conference rooms with a maximum capacity of 320 people; all have audio-visual equipment and simultaneous translation is available.

Guestrooms. The 75 guestrooms are spread over two floors and have light decor, traditional style furnishings, separate sitting areas and balconies. All are equipped with satellite television with pay movies, wireless Internet (surcharge), direct-dial phones with voicemail, safes, and minibars with complimentary bottled water. Bathrooms provide bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers and toiletries.
