Elegant with a few glitches

The Villa Maria Christina is a very elegant place to stay. High ceilings, formal decor, lovely public areas. A bit of a walk from town, (esepecially the uphill part when returning) but doable. We found the bed to be too soft (unusual in Mexico)and wished the gym and pool were open earlier and later! Our room was apparently above the kitchen, and we were awakened much too early twice by noise from that area. Ask for a room in a different area. The staff were very courteous and helpful.
