This is actually a guesthouse, built in 1901; it has been renovated and is very comfortable. It is different then a typical hotel where they make your bed everyday and change your towels, it is more like being at home including the fact that you have the opportunity to purchase some groceries and put them in the refrigerator/freezer in the kitchen you can cook or heat things up in the microwave if you want to (or just milk and cereal in the morning). The Victorian Getaway was half a block of the bus route to down town. Just learn the bus schedule and you are downtown in 5 minutes and a short walk to the San Diego Convention Center. I highly recommend this, it is a place you will always remember, rather than a hotel room that looks like every other one you might have stayed in. You have access to the dinning room and sitting room.

I didn't know that the hotel actually was so called "guest house" or similar. We had a room in a big beautiful Victorian style house. We could use the kitchen, i.e. buy stuff for breakfast and eat in the large dining room surrounded by old style furniture, or just sit outside in the back yard, arranged as a gorgeous garden. The landlord was more than polite. I will definitely rent a room again for a week or so.
