    This is a very nice hotel but you are paying for the location. The restaurant food was way above the usual hotel fare. It was also nice to have one of Emeril's restaurants right in the hotel. The water taxi made it easy to get to the parks and Citywalk. I would go back even though it's pricey.

Location. Universal's Loews Royal Pacific Resort is located in Orlando, Fla., a five-minute water taxi ride of Universal Studios Orlando. The Royal Pacific Resort offers complimentary transportation to SeaWorld Orlando and Wet n' Wild water park. Special theme park benefits include Universal Express ride access to bypass regular lines at most attractions and rides, complimentary resort-wide transportation via water taxis or shuttle buses and priority seating at select Universal Orlando restaurants.

Hotel Features. Designed to resemble a tropical paradise, the outdoor area at Universal's Loews Royal Pacific Resort features palm trees, gardens and a lagoon-style pool complete with a sand beach and water playground. Opportunities for recreation include "The Gymnasium" fitness center, beach volleyball, a putting green and game room. Guests may access the hotel's Golf Universal Orlando program. The hotel offers supervised children's activities in The Mariner's Club and an interactive water play area. Evenings bring movies under the stars at the hotel's weekly poolside "dive-in" movies. Dining options include buffet-style breakfasts at Islands Dining Room, tropical drinks poolside at Bula Bar & Grille and Polynesian-fusion cuisine at Emeril's Tchoup Chop.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms feature pool or city views, and boast colorful linens, bamboo accents and hand-carved relief's from indigenous island woods. Club Level guestrooms offer additional amenities such as continental breakfasts, afternoon cocktails and unlimited use of the fitness center. King Suites and Hospitality Suites include separate living areas with sofa beds, conference tables and service pantries with refrigerators.

Expert Tip. Enjoy a musical journey through the islands at the Royal Pacific Resort's weekly Wantilan Luau. The luau takes place on Saturday evenings year round, plus Tuesday and Friday nights seasonally from mid-May through Labor Day. The luau features fire dancers, hula dancers and knife twirlers. Reservations are required.
