Great deal on the beach

I was looking for a cheap room on the beach for the weekend, and found a gem with Tropical Winds. Very affordable, friendly staff, and clean room with an ocean view balcony. It even had a little kitchenette, though I didn't find time to use it. I recommend to someone looking for a steal on the beach. It definitely wasn't a high class hotel or anything, but clean with a recently updated bathroom.

Great room for the $$$

The hotel was a great stay for the money. We got a smoking room. The whole entire floor smelled like a stell ashtray. You expect it to smell somewhat like that but it was pretty bad. We very much enjoyed our stay, though. Great view of the ocean. Very convient location to shops, resturants and sight seeing.

Great room for the money

this hotel was a great surprise. My daughter and I read the reviews on hotels before we reserve and this one was a great experience. We had an ocean view room and the view was beautiful. We will definitely stay again.

"Great room for the money"

Fantasic view from the "Ocean Front" room. It overlooked part of the parking lot, but beyond that was a great view of the ocean. Bathroom was a little small for me, and a small but practical kitchen area. The Hotel has indoor and outdoor pools and a small cafe for hotel guests. Easy access from the pool area to the beach. All-in-All a nice hotel. The hotel is located on N.Atlantic Ave, in a more residential area of the strip, which I found to be nice because there was not a lot of traffic and noise. I will be looking to stay here again, next time I vacation in Daytona Beach !

Oldie but not quite a goodie

This hotel was grand in its time but has long since lost the fine touches. The pool is the highpoint of the place and paying more for an ocean view room while being on the ocean is a ripoff. The food in the cafe is pretty good but it is small and needs to be cleaned and shined (especially the windows). It's really a great big MOTEL that should charge motel rates. It was O.K. but I wouldn't go back.

Good value for the money

The rate was low for the area and the hotel quality was adequate. I was satisfied as a business traveler, I would not have been as satisfied if I were on vacation.

Friendly Staff

The staff was very friendly! Always had a smile on their face and was happy to help. For the price I paid I thought the hotel was very clean and I was pleasantly surprised by the room size and cleanliness. The hallways smelled a little funny and needed some updating but I would stay there again!
