Trip Type: Family Review 16 of 64Good hotel, good location, good price
For a 2 nites stay at Va Beach this hotel was a good place to stay. Across from the boardwalk and the beach put us right in the heart of the area we wanted to be, without having to pay too much. Staff was very polite and promptly responded to any reasonable requests we had. This is not a new hotel, but sufficed as well as a new hotel of same price would've. The only negative I had was; they could've used some new carpeting in the room. We would stay here again.

A bit skeptical due to other reviews, but for the price, the place was GREAT. Clean room, great condition, overall awesome stay

Trip Type: With Friends Review 19 of 64Travelodge was a bargain and a great place to stay.
The hotel was great: we were right on the strip, a block from the beach, near plenty of good restaurants, and the hotel was clean, nice, and as good as any 100 a night bed.

Booking with Hotels.com usually means I get more than I expect for my money. This time was huge disappointment. Wouldn't have stayed if I had not prepaid. Hotel is old and worn on exterior and needs work. Room were okay, except for the horrible smell. Had housekeeping spray it to no avail. It helped for a couple of hours, but was the same when I returned in the evening. There are way too may options from Hotels.com that are within a few bucks of this place.

The hotel was very clean, and in a great area! Close to shopping, and several food outlets. The hotel also had a list of dinning options that delivered!!

Trip Type: Business Review 22 of 64Budget Hotel
I needed a room for a week during a trade show at the Convention Center. The Location was GREAT. Non-smoking, microwave, cable tv, refridgerator, granite-top vanity in bathroom. The room was comfortable. The rate was the lowest on the beach. The whole motel needs painting, it is not a new facility. Complimentary breakfast is the minimum. Staff were friendly. If you need luxury, amenities, double sheeted beds, four pillows per bed, a large breakfast, ocean view, this is not the place for you. If you are working or are on a budget, consider it.

The outside appearance needs some work but the inside of the rooms are good for the money.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 24 of 64Not what I expected
I expected much better from Travelodge from having stayed with them at other locations in other states.... there was no vent fan in the bathroom, hard uncomfortable beds, they advertise a "continental breakfast" that consists of mini donuts, two dry cereal dispensers, and a small coffee maker.... it a small walk in lobby that has no sitting area, and is only about 6 ft by 10 ft if that.... and on the day I checked out, the desk clerk had parked her minivan in the drive of the hotel, blocking access to the street. As I was getting ready to pull out after checking out, she came out to her vehicle, I thought to perhaps move it. However, she got in, rummaged through her belongings, got out, and walked back to the lobby door.... looked at me, and told me that "there is enough room for you to get past".... I barely cleared the vending machine on one side by about 1.5 inches, and her van by about 2 inches... she should not have left her personal vehicle blocking the drive to Atlantic Ave.

Rooms are better than the exterior of the motel would indicate. Inexpensive but satisfactory. Verify front dest hours of operation on check-in.

Quaint hotel at a bargain price! The staff and front desk personel were very friendly, polite and accomodating as much as they could. However, the heat in both rooms stopped working in the middle of the night during the coldest time of the year (late January) and after multiple attempts to fix it they finally moved us to different rooms by upgrading us at no charge. But even then, the water in the showers would alternate from hot to cold abruptly. If it were Summer I'd definitely recommend this hotel for the price but during the winter, just be aware because, you do get what you pay for!

Trip Type: Family Review 29 of 64Great for the family on a budget !
I was surprised how well this hotel was. We were only going down for one night as we live only an hour away and my husband just wanted to get out of the house and since he has never seen the ocean we chose to go to VB. We didnt have alot of money so this was the hotel we chose. I can say the room was fabulous. Only a few things such as a door knob on the bathroom being broken and the people above us being extremely loud at 2 am was our only problems with this hotel. All the positive things: great location, it was right next to some shops and right across from the beach. Friendly service at the front desk. Good little breakfast nook in lobby in the morning. The greatest thing was that they put us were nobody ( except the people upstairs) was around. That way my 2 yr old son was able to be loud without bothering anyone.

If you're looking for a cheap hotel room, this is a good choice. In my case, I just needed a place to spend one night so I didn't want to pay too much. This hotel was very cheap, but like the title says, you get what you pay for...the facility is old; there is nothing modern about this hotel, but the bed was comfortable and the shower was clean, which is all I wanted.
