Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 98excellent centrally located budget hotel
We received a great deal on hotels.com for a 3-night stay at Travelodge Sydney. This hotel turned out to be perfect for our needs. They have 24hr reception with a good location close to the Museum train stop, but the truth is that Sydney CBD is best seen on foot. You can def walk to the CBD and there's much to see on the way, as it is near Hyde Park. The twin standard room we booked was also great. Just enough space for us (though I wouldn't call it spacious), basic amenities, and perfectly clean. I remember thinking the bed was surprisingly comfortable too. I would totally recommend it. (Too bad they don't include free wifi or breakfast, that would've been nice icing on the cake!)

In the middle of the city close to everything for the price this place was great and the room was modern and very clean.

It is at the edge of CBD, though only short walk to china town, World Square, grocery store. With bus service to Circular Quay. Still convenient and very affordable rate.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 98Excellent Value
I chose this hotel based on its high customer rating on hotels.com, and I cannot say that I was disappointed. The hotel is recently refurbished and in a good location (just outside the main business district, but still walking distance to many attractions). My room was clean and comfortable. So far, so good. Two negatives I must report though: there is no wireless internet service UNLESS you are on the "executive floors." The upgrade would have cost me $50 per day. That is a joke. I am a budget conscious business traveler, and I depend on being able to plug in my laptop. However, there are 4 computers in the lobby, which cost about $6 per hour, and plenty of cafes with wireless service nearby. The breakfast buffet at $18 was also disappointing, unless you like rubber bacon and watery scrambled eggs. But, again, there are plenty of alternatives within 2-5 min walking distance.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 98Exceeded Expectations
After a 14 hour flight and landing at 6am in Sydney, it was nice to go to Travelodge and check in a room RIGHT AWAY! It was so nice to be able to unpack, unwind, and wash up in the room before heading out for the day. The staff was very accomodating and helpful in terms of pointing us to the right directions to where we wanted to go. The hotel is not next door to anything but within a 5 minute walk, you're in Chinatown or the mall (with a Coles supermarket). Yes, the beds are a little stiff but I still felt we got our money's worth with this hotel. Plus, when we checked out, there was no problem with having Travelodge hold our luggage for the day until we were ready to go to the airport.

Location was great, short walking distance to Darling harbor or chinatown, and a longer walk or #555 free shuttle to all other points downtown. Staff was friendly and courteous and extremely busy at times. Rooms were small but adequate for price, and included a fridge and microwave which helped save a tremendous amount of money if you shop at the local Coles Supermarket not the convenience store across the street. Breakfast wasnt a good value nor was the paid Internet in the lobby, shame they didnt offer free wi-fi but not expected for the cost of the room. Overall a great experience.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 98Great Room for Money
As I had no expectations for this hotel because of the extremely low rate, I was pleasantly surprised by everything!! We arrived at the hotel at 7am and they were happy to check us in without charging a half day rate. The room and hotel was extremely clean. I think the hotel rooms were recently refurbished so that may have explained it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great if you wish to be in the CBD of Sydney.

What a great hotel! Perfect location, with public transport literally two short blocks from the hotel. The accommodations were quite spacious with a convenient kitchenette stocked daily with coffee, tea and a small carton of milk. Believe me this was greatly appreciated. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. There were no hidden fees or charges upon check out. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great value in a central location

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 98Best Bargain in Sydney
Our 3-day stay at the Travelodge was a perfect fit with our needs. The room included a microwave, hot pot and refrigerator, so we were able to prepare breakfast each morning. The hotel is only two blocks from the Museum subway station, which provides easy access to the transit system. It's a pleasant walk from the hotel to Circular Quay on the harbour, including several blocks adjacent to Hyde Park. An ideal location, and the 3-night discount made this the best lodging bargain in Sydney.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 98Very good hotel
Very good hotel and good value. We stay at this hotel for 7 days in Sept09. Staff was great!!! I would compare it to a boutique hotel or a nice Holiday Inn Express. Strong 3 star hotel. Hotels looks like recently renovated. Location is very central. Bus and train station is a block away. Less than 10 min walk to central station and chinatown. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Only one draw back but not important - the bathroom shower doesn't have a good barrier but just put a towel on the floor to prevent the floor from getting wet.

I felt very comfortable in this hotel. Great location and very clean. A little pricey for internet and the mattress was a little firm but I would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 98Quick visit
I stayed at this hotel on a whim for one night but would recommend short stays there. It's basic and cheap but we just needed a place to put our heads down. Staff was very helpful, place was very clean and quite. The location is great for walking around/touring downtown sydney. Shuttle to and from airport run to the hotel for a fee. Nothing bad to report

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 98Nice Hotel
The Travelodge Hotel Sydney was an excellent deal. We received a great price! It included all of the amenities we needed. It was within walking distance to all the tourist spots in Sydney. We were taking a family vacation which included a 5-year-old. He could make the walks with no problem. The only down sides (because it was a family vacation) was that it was amongst several clubs and an additional bed came at a price. I would have enjoyed a room with two double beds instead of one, but for the price we were ok with one. We also enjoyed the convenience of the internet "room" for a small fee. The concierge desk was also very helpful! Great stay!
