very clean, affordable and plenty nice. The only negative was the bed seemed unusually hard but I thought the value was excellent. I would stay there again.

The hotel is a motel in real sense. Bottom rooms had back door leading to the parking lot. Other than that, I checked right in and the main room looked good... kinda small, but doable for one person. Some trash left on the dresser. The bathroom was okay.... never could figure out how to get the tub to drain. Fresh towels.. but the trash was not emptied and in the bottom were used condoms, which I didnt need to see and know what they did in the bed i was going to sleep in that night... Then as i was leaving for the night (wedding) the maid came and wanted to check to make sure everything was okay... and then told me to wait 5 minutes while she went to get fresh towels again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 58Decent hotel, terrible bed
The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on at a hotel. So hard I went out to my car and got an air mattress. If you're into a firm bed, this place is for you. The front desk staff was very courteous, there's free wifi in every room. I didn't like that the housekeeper opened my door twice without knocking. It was an okay bargain for the money and seemed clean.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 58Good value for the money
The room was nice and bright, the towels and the sheets were very clean. Excellent continental breakfast and friendly hotel staff and management. Minor irritants (such as a broken door stopper) but other than that, it is great value for the price.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 58Perfect
I'm a college student/in debt, so I went for the hotel with the best price that had a pool and decent ratings. The staff was very friendly and the whole hotel was clean. (I'm a freak about hair in bathrooms/showers and it was spotless) The channel choices for a hotel were awesome. The pool was great. No complaints about the continental breakfast. The workroom equiptment was a little squeaky but good for what I needed. (Weight machine and cardio) The location is a perfect, short drive to downtown. The only problem being I was a little skeptical about the safety of the area around the hotel, and the room was really stuffy coming back after a long day. If you have the money, downtown Grand Rapids has very beautiful and elegant hotels, but if you're like me this hotel was perfect.

Though affordable, the room we stayed in needed some repairs. The drain in the bathroom sink leaked, for example. Although the hotel was rather empty, the staff insisted on placing all of the guests in the same section of the building. Our 'neighbor' next door kept us up all night with loud conversation and a loud television. We would have had a more pleasant stay if the staff had not placed us in adjacent rooms. The thin adjoining doors transmitted every made in the next room.

3 out of 7 lights did not work, outlet for coffee maker did not work, phone button for 'wake up call' did not work and vent in bathroom made noise every time the wind hit it.

This hotel smelled really bad.. The smell was so bad it made me sick. They also charge you a fee for a safe whether if you use it or not. I thouht that was wrong and it make that hotel look liek the have a theft problem. I would not recomend this hotel, the value of money was not there and there are better hotels just a few miles away.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 58Good value
Hotel is a little hard to find, but worth the hunt. Room was well-kept and most everything was in working order. Staff were attentive. The bathroom was perfect. The TV remote was dead, but that's not too critical. They seemed to lack snow shovels to clear away fresh snow by the exit doors and along the outside walkway. I'd have done it myself if the gear was out. Chairs seemed a bit worn out, but again, not a deal breaker.

An OK place overall, but nothing goes out of its way to make you want to rush back anytime soon. When I arrived on a 15 degree night with a pre-paid hotels.com reservation- the room was stone cold. A tip for the innkeeper would be to at least go to those pre-paid rooms by 6PM and put the heat on low at least. The window heater was sub-par and it took forever to warm up the room. I had to call the front desk so they could tell me how to jimmy the control to get decent heat. If the innkeeper did some very low cost things he could gain loyalty. 2 dollar charge to use lobby computer to check e-mail! A little petty, folks.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 58A comfortable room at a great price.
The hotel had everything we needed, including breakfast. My only complaint is that they had not plowed their parking lot adequately, which made driving in and out more difficult than it should have been.
