    The only experience that marred our stay was an encounter with one particularly rude and unhelpful manager on duty on the last night of my stay. I called to ask what might be the best way to get to the airport the following morning. His curt response was, come to the front desk and we'll give you directions. I explained that I meant should I take a cab, or was there a shuttle, etc. "Sure, whatever." Well, is there a shuttle schedule you can tell me about? My flight leaves tomorrow at noon. "Yeah, I think there's a shuttle that leaves around 10." Not only was he terse, for no apparent reason, but when we checked out the following morning, we discovered that the shuttles left at 9 and 11; there was no scheduled shuttle that would get us to the airport in time. Thankfully, the lady working the front desk very kindly arranged for us to be taken to the airport, and apologized for the manager I had spoken with the previous evening.

Hotel Nova Scotian, impressive in both style and service, benefited from meticulous management since its construction in downtown Halifax by the Canadian National Railroad in 1929. Its original pinkish hued brick and copper roof suggest a charming colonial influence. The historic building, located adjacent to Halifax Station, has retained its railroad heritage and colonial styling while coming to be known as the magnificently updated Westin Nova Scotian.

The Westin Nova Scotian offers an exceptional array of facilities, services and amenities expected of first class accommodations. Doormen arrange for Town Car or limousine service as necessary, and a concierge is available for any request. Additionally, the hotel features a full-service health spa, tennis courts, and beauty salon. Many of the Westin's staff are multi- lingual. The lobby is a popular social setting, featuring Starbucks Coffee and pastry bites. Meanwhile, the hotel restaurant serves savory Tuscan cuisine with the integrity of local, fresh ingredients.

Many of the Westin's guestrooms overlook Cornwalis Park, while others provide brilliant cityscape or harbor views. The rooms feel comfortably lavish, furnished in warm, modern décor.
