The Westin Galleria

Well worth the price

The hotel is located in the galleria. If you are here for shopping you don't ever have to leave the immediate surroundings of the hotel. There are great places to eat within walking distance and the room service is very good. I would definitely encourage anyone wishing to relax in Houston to stay at the Westin.

Hotels.com nor the Westin informed me the entire hotel was under construction. Also, the rooms are outdated and not well maintained. I was not at all satisfied!

"Not Worth The Money"

First of all the room smelled of a slight odor of urine when we walked in. Also, the air conditioner would not turn off unless you turned the power button off. We were either hot or very, very cold. And to top it off, there was a party going on next door and we didn't get to sleep until 3am. When I told the staff in the morning, they simply said, "sorry, you should have called security." It is not my responsibility to do so and I didn't even know they had security. I will never stay there again.

Convenient Location

Love shopping at the Galleria in Houston this hotel is inside the mall so you have the convenience of bringing bags back to the room anytime! You can also "window shop" after the mall has closed!!!

comfortable hotel

The bed was extremely comfortable, although I could hear traffic from the outside. The staff was curteous and helpful. Location was excellent if you like to shop and have plenty of restaurants. Although there is a musty smell in the halls, the rooms did not. Very clean.

Great Location for the Money

We enjoyed our stay and being in the Galleria was the main purpose of our trip, however we would have liked to use the pool and there was no bar at the pool, if you wanted something to drink, you had to order it from room service. I think the hotel missed out on a lot of revenue by not having drink/food service at the pool. We were there over the Fourth of July weekend and the Texas sun made it way too hot to be outside. Otherwise the staff was very polite, the room was large, the beds very comfortable and a there was an excellent restuarant "The Daily Grill."

Great with questionable service

The room was amazing but the staff just stood around. I could not find anyone to valet or retrieve my vehicle. Also, when I asked where breakfast was and no one was able to help me out.

Wonderful Hotel - perfect for the family trip

We stayed at this hotel as part of a mini-vacation for our family. Our 7 year old thought it was the coolest thing that the hotel was attached to the mall, and that you could walk the mall hallways after hours. Parking is in the mall garages, so you need to allow an extra five minutes for parking or picking up the car.

Time for a Westin Upgrade

The convenience of having the renown Galleria Shopping Center on site: Priceless. The Westin Hotel, however, appeared "dated" at best, and the need for an "Extreme" guest room makeover is obvious. The staff was cordial and did their best to accommodate.

Great location, courteous service, needs to be cleaned

The best thing was that the hotel is connected directly to the Galleria, very convenient. However, the room was not very clean, especially the bathroom - there were stains on the wallpaper and mildew on the tiles in the bathtub. Customer service was very nice and upgraded me to a 'better' room. It was not that great, a few floors higher but the bathroom was still dirty. I'm glad I only spent one night there. Definitely not worth the price.
