Service with a smile

I stayed a weekend here for a Steelers game.The hotel staff were extremely courteous, from check in to check out. The valet parking per day is a bit high, yet in the long run worth the money. The no free parking is a draw back. The rooms are comfortable, the walls are thin though. The rooms are clean. Hotel is in a good location. It's a short walk to the stadium. Don't waste your money at the Fish Market Restuarant located in the hotel, it is overrated for the price seek another seafood place. Ricky the bellhop is a gem. He is a world of information. He will definately take care of you and steer you to what you would like to see. I would stay here again. The hotel is also located across the street from the bus depot for those of you traveling in by bus.

Outstanding Hotel

We absolutely love Weston Hotels. The employees are very helpful. The rooms are top-notch and i garantee that you will want to take the bed and the bedding home with you.

Great Hotel no free parking!

I did like the hotel very much, the only thing is that parking is not included and it is very expensive.

Terrific Hotel, if a bit pricey

I've stayed at other hotels in the Pittsburgh downtown area. This one is clean, convenient, well-maintained, and the front desk service was the best I've had in a very long time (as soon as I indicated I was planning to eat in the excellent in-hotel Fish Market restaurant the front desk person gave me a special "passport" that paid for the cost of my $8 appetizer for the meal, 6 wonderful shrimp-filled oriental dumplings in a soy-ginger sauce). Free Internet access for Starwood Hotels preferred customer members, too. My only beef was that the cost of the room was about $50 higher for the night than the equally excellent William Penn Omni hotel down the street (but there were 3 conventions in town, so I took what I could get, and on balance, was very happy with what I got). Try this hotel out: you'll definitely like it. But see if you can beat my $300-plus per night room cost. --Ed--

outstanding hotel

Well kept, clean, and an overall comfortable stay. I would reccomend this hotel to everyone. Personnel were very friendly and helpful. Loved our stay!

Good Hotel

Room was nice size, The toilet was running when we entered and Maint. fixed it within 5 minutes of calling the front desk.Fitness Center is really good. Pool was nice. Food is VERY expensive on site. Hotel charges $22 for 24 hours parking. I would not park in hotel,just park across the street. It was $5 for 24 hours.

Overall stay was great

I have stayed at the Westin in San Francisco which is why I chose to stay at the Westin again. Overall the hotel was very nice the staff was courteous and the price was great. The only problem with the Hotel was the cleanliness of the sheets. The sheet on one of our beds actually blood stained! I understand that laundering does not always get everything sparkling (it was an old stain) but someone made a cousious choice to use this sheet on the bed as a "top" sheet so the stain was clearly visible and large. This was very disgusting and sickening and made me very leary of sleeping. I think the decision was made by someone who had no regard for the type of image the hotel has and certainly no regard for the guest. I reported this to the front desk who immediatly sent housekeeping however no other apologies were given by the hotel no ammenities offered and nothing said upon check out. I really like the Westin but another stay may not happen.

Nice hotel -- needs some plumbing work

Everything ws nice -- however, toilet overflowed the morning after our stay. It took them quite a while to respond. By that time we were ready to check out. Good thing most of us had already showered. All I can say is thank goodness for lobby bathrooms.

Would hesistate to stay here again

I tried to cancel my hotel reservation since I no longer needed to stay overnight in Pittsburg. Much to my dismay, the Westin manager would not allow my reservation to be cancelled nor would she refund my money. I was extremely upset! I gave the Westin plenty of notice in regards to the cancellation, but they refused to refund my money. We ended up staying at the hotel because I didn't want to lose the money. The hotel is nice, but you have to watch out for the self-parking vs. the valet parking! The valet tried to convince me to valet park, but I didn't and ended up paying less than $10 to self park. The hotel also provides you with a nice coffee set-up, then gives you 2 bottles of water but charges you for the use of the water! I do have to say that the hotel supplied me with great directions to get around Pittsburgh, and the doorman very graciously talked me back to the hotel when I got terribly lost at night. The hotel has its perks, but I don't know if I would stay there again. I think I could find another hotel just as nice for a lot less.

Mostly Great

Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and room was well-equipped. Downtown location was very convenient. But one thing left a slightly bad taste. Some of the lights are controlled by a card you can insert or not, as a way of saving energy when you're away from your the room. I liked the "greenness" of that, but after a time my bathroom light wouldn't work even with the card inserted. I called hotel service, who said they's send somebody up. No one ever showed, however, and I ended up having to unplug a lamp and move it into the bathroom in order to have any light in there. Oh, one other minor complaint -- not a wide selection of channels on non-extra-pay TV.

Amazing Hotel

My boyfriend and i stayed at this hotel when we went to see a steelers game in december the hotel was great, very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful... we would definately go back !
