Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 102Plus and a minus.
Incredibly comfortable bed. Connection to in-room internet was difficult, confusing, required rebooting each day and then added to my bill incorrectly. Fortunately good staff took one of the charges off my bill on departure.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 102Great Hotel in a Great Location
We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and wouldn't even look at another hotel when we return to San Francisco. The property was modern but still kept the charm of its older past. The location was absolutely perfect. At the intersection of two cable car lines, you can get to all the major attractions, and it's an easy walk down the hill to both Union Square and Chinatown. And with the Fairmount and Top of the Mark next door, you can experience those hotels (or at least their bars) without having to pay to stay there. I totally recommend the Stanford Court!

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 102Needs Improvement
The view was very nice from our room, so we enjoyed that. For the price of the hotel, we were very surprised at the lack of in room conveniences. The bath towels are cheap and old so I got a good exfoliation just drying myself off. I've come to enjoy the bathrobes typically provided in rooms at this price point, but there were none. No bathroom amenities. No mini bar or snacks or water left out in the room. The rooms need "fluff" to match other hotels at this price in SF. We will not be staying here again. Too bad.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 102Outstanding Hotel
The service at this hotel was wonderful from housekeeping, concierge, front desk staff, etc. Every single individual acted as if they wanted us to be there. The cleanliness of the room was unmatched. The mattresses and feather toppers as well as the linen were so comfortable and fresh. There even seemed to be a special central air circulation as it was fresh. I am in the hotel business and I have never had such a wonderful experience in a major city.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 102Great deal
Good view, room in excellent condition, enjoyed having cable car access right outside the hotel so I could easily get to my conference at a hotel in fisherman's wharf area.

Located on Nob Hill, easy downhill walk to Union Sq stores and restaurants. Consider taking cable car for return. Rooms appear to been recently upgraded. Excellent value.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 102great hotel for location
This hotel is in a great location with a short walk to union square restaurants and shopping. The Powell and California Cable cars take you to Fisherman's Wharf and financial district. The staff were friendly and room service was good. My only complaints are: My room was surprisingly tiny; I travel a lot and this was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in! I was expecting a king size bed and digital/HD TV. Finally, there is no store in hotel so I had to go to pharmacy for some toiletries. Still, I would recommend it for the price and location.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 102Beautiful Hotel with Outstanding Service
hotels.com had a great rate posted for this luxury hotel so I snapped it up. I was expecting the hotel to be under construction or some other circumstance that would justify the low rate. To my surprise, the hotel was in standard operating mode, which is 4-star. Rooms are spacious and top notch, service was wonderful. Because SF has so many great restaurants, we did not get the opportunity to dine in-house. Don't snooze if you see this hotel available at a rate you like.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 102Not what I expected from former stays
I booked the Stanford Court because I stayed there for years; however, I was not aware that Renaissance did a major overhaul and it is NOTHING like the former Stanford Court. Cozy, charming, and old world feel has given way to a modern, sterile look. In my room there were no towel racks in the basin area of the bathroom. When you were in bed, the air ducts blew directly in your face. One morning I asked for directions to the gift shop/sundries and there is no such place and no one will commit as to whether or not they WILL have one. Overall, I was not happy with my choice - should have done my homework.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 102Stanford Court - San Francisco
Great Location at the intersection of California & Powell.Hotel and staff just outstanding. Took a day trip and hotel arranged a delivered rental car, extremely accommodating staff. Walking distance to Market Street, Union Square, China Town, Little Italy, and The Wharf, just an awesome location. Recommend the Muni Pass for bus, Bart, and the world famous cable cars which are right outside your door. Great restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk of the Hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 102Good location if you have to be on Nob Hill, but that's all.
The hotel room was nice. The bed wasn't very comfortable and there is no lunch-time room service, which means you have to walk all the way down Nob Hill just to get a hamburger. This wasn't very convenient since it was a working trip for us. Forget about ordering outside delivery food, it'll take over an hour to arrive. Getting a hold of the concierge was very difficult since they rarely answered their phone and when you went into the lobby to speak with them, they either weren't around or had a gaggle of customers in front of them. Room service was very expensive for what you got.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 102High Quality Hotel in Great Neighborhood
Stanford Court has been my home away from home for many years. Newly redone - Restaurant still working out the kinks. $ Saving tip - park one block away at the Masonic parking garage on California; A little more than half the price of valet.
