Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 24Simply Wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Savoy! Our expectations were most definitely exceeded! The room was very nicely decorated with modern touches and had everything we needed. The location was great! With it being right on Ocean Blvd., it was within walking distance to everything. The pools were very nice also! We would highly recommend this to anyone and will stay there on our next visit back to Miami!

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 24Great for the price
Before going down to Miami for the weekend I read previous reviews. I was quite concerned with all the negative reviews I read but decided to check for myself. The hotel is in a great location. The room was awesome, besides the fact that the dressers were a bit worn, but we really didnt care about that. It was full of closets and the bathroom was beautiful. The bed was very comfy. The mini-bar prices and the 15 buck waffles were a bit much in price but other than that it was great. Excellent staff as well. Would stay here again. RTD. NYC

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 24The only thing I liked about this place was the concierge!
Our room was ok. But seriously $7 for a bottle of water is a little steep. Not too mention that after you check in and do the normal deposit for the stay there is a daily hidden fee for beach chairs and an umbrella. Gratuity is always included with every transaction made at this hotel so there is no need to do anything extra for them because 18% is automatically added to all of the bills. But was it worth the money I paid? Not really it smelled like a really old building in downtown san francisco. just with better lighting.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 24Great Stay for the Money Before Cruising
We stay at the Savoy before going on a cruise for my wife's 40th birthday. Although reading some of the reviews - we were tempted not to stay. I'm glad that we followed our minds and stayed at the Savoy. Location, Location, Location. The spot was beyond great. We wanted to be in the middle of the action and party to get ready for our cruise and that we did. The pool area was great - it was little on the cloudy side the 2 days we spent in Sobe, but hey it was Sobe and the atmosphere made up for it all. The lounge deck off of the pool area was superb - when the sun decided to peak out - very relaxing and the view of the ocean was great. If you're going on a budget - well be prepared to blow it. The drinks at the Savoy were well over priced at the pool bar and the continental breakfast - well if you're into toast, toast and more toast and throw in an apple or banana - then the breakfast is for you. Although you can get a made to order breakfast - again very overpriced. Better to hit one of the gazillion patio restaurants that always have a great deal on food. Our room was clean and comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave - that was an added perk. Although the elevator was a little on the scary side so we took the steps most of the time. They closed the elevators down at check out time for fire alarm testing - go figure. Think they coulda waited until after check out?!?!!?!? Overall we would stay at this hotel again. Front desk staff was great also.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 24Outstanding!
Great place! Nice pool, bar, and clean rooms. I did not have much time to enjoy of the hotel, the little times i walked around and the good service I got in return I was simply satisfied. Good price for accomadation.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 24Great Location - Comfortable Hotel
We selected the Savoy for its South Beach on-the-beach location and weren't disappointed. Our room had an odd layout, but was otherwise comfortable. Update to hallways, access to pool and beach, etc. would help overall impression. Cribs under stairways, cleaning equipment tucked into corners and general "stuff" stacked was unattractive. It is an older hotel, and as such showing some age, but pretty well maintained. Overall, we were satisfied with our one-night stay before we headed out on a cruise.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 24Great location!
The staff was very nice and the grounds were beautiful. The resort had a regular and a salt water pool. I had a pool facing room with a balcony from the living room and another from the bedroom. The furniture was a little beat up in the room. Located right at the south end of the strip, by the shops and resturants of South Beach. Low resort fee included 2 beach chairs, but they needed to be returned by 5:00.

FIRST ROOM WE HAD WAS OK , BUT THEN WE SWITCHED TO ONE WITH A BETTER LAYOUT. WE TRIED BREAKFAST THERE ONE MORNING, WASN'T WORTH IT, THAT'S THE ONLY COMPLAINT , EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PERFECT.

This was one of the more expensive hotels we looked at, so we expected a lot. However, the main floors of the hotel smelled something awful, like rotten fish. The walls were falling apart, and there were slicks on the ground. The hotel key cards deactivated every day, so we had to continuously go and get them reactivated. One of the two pools they advertised was drained, and the other pool was tiny. Every day housekeeping replaced our towels, but flat out took our washcloths without bringing new ones, causing us to have to request washcloths every day of our stay. The shower rod fell down, and a king size bed would have been preferred to the queen. All in all, not worth the relatively high price, even though the location on South Beach was AMAZING!!!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 24Recommend with reservation... rooms need major upkeep...broken windows....old furniture....broken deck furniture
Carlos at the front desk was "wonderful". The rooms were in such back shape......old furniture...broken window.....entrance to deck falling apart. Just was surprised at the condition of the rooms....Otherwise, service was great

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 24Quality does not nearly match the price
The Savoy has a wonderful location on Ocean Dr. and 5th St in South Beach. The building looks good from the outside, and it is a beach-front property with beach access and a private pool area with regular and salt-water pools. These are the positives. The hotel is actually two buildings separated by the courtyard / pool area. This is awkward, because access is not necessarily through the lobby. Our room was on the second floor of the secondary building. Unfortunately, the first floor had an almost unbearable humidity stench when we arrived, that lasted throughout our stay. The hotel is clean, but the interiors look REALLY dated. The bed was comfortable, and I would have actually given this place a higher rating if not for the price --which I thought was extremely unfair considering the quality.
