Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 360Service Charge
The hotel almost charge me with an additional service charge. I told them that I paid hotel.com already. The hotel representative asked me to ask another representative to waive the charge in the morning. I was like...WHY? So, I asked him to sign where I put "No Service Charge" on the paper that he asked me to sign. Then, he printed out another paper saying "No Service Charge". I felt like they tried to rip off customers.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 360Excellent price, Excellent location
For the price I thought this hotel would be less than average, but I was very pleased and surprised to see how nice it was. It is about 100 ft from Bourbon St so if that is was you are looking for you are in for a treat. Self parking was only $15 and the garage is attached to the hotel. The only drawback is the traffic getting to the hotel, be patient.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 360Needs "big time" improvement
Toilet did not work, never got it to work, they tried, there was a ad in the room for "Happy Hour" at Louis XVI, restaurant and bar were closed for renovation. Hotels.com said there was no extra fees, WRONG, $12.69 at checkin. I've been a Hotels.com customer for 20 years, have never complained. Great location in the quarter.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 360HORRIBLE and they will charge you "service Fee of 12.69"
What a nightmare. Walls are made of paper. I heard the guy in back of me talk on cell phone all night. I also got to listen to the Saints fans carry on all night. Took forever to get a cab to leave. Hotel was not really dirty, just run down. Bed was nice but I did not get to sleep at all. Bathroom was grungy and had a bidet ( yuck). The staff however was very nice. When I checked in they stuck me with a 12.69 service fee. I called hotels.com..all they offer me is a voucher. And girl on the phone says hotel can charge me a 5.00 electricity fee! Never again!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 360Good room for the money, but
The rate was great until you check in and they throw a service fee at you. Of course you have to pay for parking but they said the service fee gave you a half off discount. You also revived half off of your breakfast which was pretty good. We ate in a very quaint outdoor court yard with a fountain in the center. As with a lot of the hotels down there the rooms are old and not perfect. I would say it was pretty clean. The location was great only one block from Bourbon.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 360Hotel has gone down the tubes
This hotel is in major disrepair and needs to be refurbished. The carpet in the halls were wet and sticky. The room had stains and burns on the comforter.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 360Good Hotel, Great City
The Saint Louis Hotel is a very nice and nicely located hotel. My wife and I decided to go to New Orleans for our honey-moon, and it was terrific. The only thing that I would caution against is the noise from the traffic headed to Bourbon St. The Hotel front is on a street that is one-way towards Bourbon St, so with the activity only half of a block away, the traffic can get pretty backed up and there can be honking and quite a lot of loud people all the way up to 4 or 5am on the weekends...but one very cool aspect of our room was that is was immediately above the flags. As far as the general location, though; it was amazing to stay in the French Quarter. We walked everywhere from the hotel comfortably, and New Orleans is a wonderful city to be in and see. Bottom line for the hotel: excellent staff (very nice and helpful), good food from adjoining restaurant, wonderful courtyard, can be noisy at night if in a room fronting Bienville St. (the street the hotel is on), cozy and historic hotel and setting, and very good price in the French Quarter. If you want it to be a bit quieter than our experience (which was by no means a bad one), I would recommend getting a room on the opposite side of the beautiful courtyard from Bienville. If you stay here, you should definitely not be disappointed.

Great location right on Bourbon Street, but quite rooms. Service is very good, clean, but rooms condition requires improvement.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 360Needs great improvement!
The first night of our 2 day stay I slept on a mattress with holes in it that allowed the wire coils to protrude (into me). Within the 2 day period the hotel had three wedding receptions which, in effect, closed the courtyard to our use, and more distressing to us, the music lasted until approximately 11:00 p.m. at night both nights. The second night I received a mattress change at my request. Because of the change in the weather, we attempted to turn on the heat in our room briefly and it didn't work. An engineer finally gave up and plugged in a wall unit. Also, the jacuzzi tub didn't work and the mirror in the bathroom was haging by a thread. When all of the above was mentioned to the staff they stated that they would ask management about a reduction in rates, but no accomodation was made. One clerk agreed that guests should be notified in advance about events that would result in music, etc. that some might find disruptive. I should also mention that the hotel attempted to charge us an additional fee per night for a newspaper, wireless internet access, and half price drinks and half price breaksfast. When we replied that we didn't want any of the above, the clerk stated that the bar was not operational anyway and agreed not to charge us for this at check-in. At checkout it was on our bill again, but we did get this taken off (I think)!
