The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans

Disappointed

I booked the this hotel for our wedding anniversary. While this is a very nice hotel, it didn't meet our expectations for a Ritz-Carlton or the room price. We were greeted graciously when we drove in and were escorted to the check-in desk. Then the disappointments began. We were given our room key and directed to the elevators. However we found that our room was on the same floor as the lobby, down a long back hallway. The bed was so soft and worn we couldn't sleep. The room key cards stopped working twice during our stay. The bathroom lighting was inadequate and the make-up light was burnt out. On the positive side the bell and valet parking services were top notch. The courtyard, and lounge are elegant; and the location is perfect.

The hotel is perfectly situated for a trip to New Orleans. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the spa is excellent. However, the service left something to be desired - I was locked out of my room (non-working card key) not once but four times, which was a hassle. There was a serious leak in our bathroom, coming through the wall, that I alerted the front desk to every morning of my stay - and yet they didn't offer to change our room until the day we checked out! I suppose I just expected better service from a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

Mouse in my room

I had a mouse in my room. The front desk staff didn't seem to care...it took them an hour to get somebody there. Even the help staff was very surprised with the lack of assistance we were getting.

Very comfortable room

I enjoyed my stay...though i wasnt too happy when my room wasnt ready when i checked in. The shampoo was amazing.

needs a little improvement

2 light bulbs were out the 2 days we were in the room.the maid service should have reported this to be fixed right away.

A little pricey but great value.

Hotel was very nice. All employees were very courteous and helpful. I will use the Ritz again. Make sure you use hotels.com because they have some ridiculous "package" charges that are waived when you use hotels.com.

Watch the special deals

The hotel was up to the normal quality of the Ritz Carlton, however the special deal that I was offered in my booking was not offered by the hotel. I spent more on the room to receive breakfast and a $100 resort credit. I did receive my credit after asking 3 different people about it and someone finally figuring it out, but never got the breakfast I was supposed to receive for each night of the stay. Very disappointing because I spent extra money on that package of room.

Wonderful Hotel Choice

This was my first trip to New Orleans and my boyfriend's birthday. We stayed at the Ritz for five days and it was awesome. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is extremely attentive. They sent complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and champagne for his birthday. Two evenings they provided the rose petal turn down. The food was wonderful! I would most certainly stay at this hotel.
