    Overall our experience at the Quadrant was very good. The Hotel Staff were extremely helpful and Tim one of the desk managers was very helpful and worked with us help resolve a reservation mix up. The rooms were very comfortable and it was nice to have two seperate bedrooms with queen beds in each room for two seperate couples. From our experience we found that most rooms in New Zealand and Australia have one room with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins so a room with 2 queen beds was a big plus. The only faults that I found with the room was there should have been some kind of glass cover on the dining table and the kitchen should have been fully stocked with cooking utensils. The only other comment that I have is, parking is very limited in the area so you have to use valet parking and the entrance to the hotel is very small so if there are mulitple cars in front you may not have room to park and check in.

Location. The Quadrant, in the city center of Auckland, New Zealand, is one-half kilometers from Queen Street, the city's prominent financial and retail district, and one kilometer from Viaduct Basin.

Hotel Features. Clean, simple lines and an abundance of white surfaces and glass define the contemporary style and décor of The Quadrant. The city center hotel includes the Quad Kitchen, a restaurant that serves Continental and à la carte breakfasts. The Quad Bar offers cocktails, a selection of New Zealand wines and appetizers such as Caesar Salad, fish cakes and tapas. Also, delivery service from local restaurants is available. The hotel meeting room includes a kitchen and minibar. A large adjoining patio area is available for outdoor functions. Recreational amenities include a fitness center, a steam room and a spa tub. Video game consoles and DVDs are available from the front desk. Two personal computers with wireless Internet access, fax machines and copiers are available in the business center. Pets are not permitted in this hotel.

Guestrooms. The 23-story hotel houses 240 guestrooms that feature balconies with louvered doors and city or harbor views. Décor is simple and contemporary with color schemes of white and gray. Amenities include CD and DVD players, flat-screen televisions with cable channels, wireless Internet access and direct-dial phones. Kitchenettes include microwave ovens, refrigerators and minibars. Bathrooms offer showers and Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities.

Expert Tip. The Auckland Museum, just over three kilometers from the hotel, is on the rim of an ancient volcano and surrounded by parks and gardens. The recently-renovated museum is said to include the largest collection of Maori and Polynesian artifacts known in the world. Admission is a suggested donation of US$3.50, although there may be additional charges for special exhibitions and performances.
