Old hotel - faded glory

This hotel is long past it's hay day. The building is beautiful but very run down. It has a good location but can be very noisy. I would not recommend this place as it is very expensive for being below marginal in everyway.

Outstanding Hotel

This hotel was great. The staff couldnt do enough for you, very friendly. The hotel lobby is the best place to hang out and meet people, not to mention the duck walk. The room we had was very small, especially the bathroom but not enought to not stay there again. When we are in Memphis, this is where we will stay.

Great location to Beale Street, Very Upscale

The Peabody was great. Upscale atmosphere and very close to many restaurants and Beale St. Would stay again.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Location

The Peabody is a beautiful historic hotel with a comfortable room and great service. It's convenient to many Memphis activities, but because of that, it can be a little noisy on weekend nights. Also, because it's an older hotel, some noise leaked in from adjoining rooms. Overall, though, I would definitely stay there again!

Outstanding Service

The hotel was wonderful! The only cautionary statement I have is that you need to beat the 11:00 a.m. check out rush. Being a historic hotel, the elevators are small and there is a long wait time to get down to the lobby. In addition, every one is trying to go down to see the ducks.

historic hotel close to beale street

The Peabody has a great location in downtown Memphis. It's near Beale Street music clubs, the FedEx Forum & the riverfront. And watching the famous ducks come down to the lobby fountain was very fun!

Great Hotel - Ask for room details

The staff was very, very helpful. Offering to walk with me and show me where the gym was instead of just giving me directions. Offering coffee at the reception desk when we woke up before the free early coffee service. They really went out of their way to demostrate excellent hospitality. The hotel lobby was amazing and fun to relax in after a day of touring. The bed in the room was VERY comfortable. The brunch was delicious - the reservations appeared to be spaced so that there was no rush and parties could relax and lounge as long as they liked. We didn't eat the rest of the day! Three notes: We stayed in the "older" section of the hotel. The rooms are smaller and the bathrooms are small. One person in our party has a larger frame, and they were less comfortable. We stayed in a room next to the elevator - if you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the elevators. The "dinging" of the elevator did wake a member of our party during the night. There were a surprising number of kids staying at the hotel. All were reasonably well mannered - but we didn't expect them (or at least the number of them that hung out at the pool!) at a very posh hotel.

For the money not so great

For the money you would expect free parking. It cost $16 to park and then an $10 fee for the use of the exercise room and free coffee only served down stairs for two hours. No coffee pot in the room.
