We chose this hotel for it's proximity to st louis childrens hospital. the hotel is connected to the hospital via covered walway which was great for us. definately recommend this hotel if staying for a while at st louis childrens hospital.
Hotel Response
Thank you for reviewing The Parkway Hotel. Yes we are conveniently located (on the campus of)Children's Hospital, Barnes, Sitemen Cancer Center and Washington University School of Medicine. Our third floor connects via pedistrian bridge to quickly get you to the various buildings, therefore no need to be outside in bad weather. As of October 5th we now offer a FREE HOT BREAKFAST in our lobby daily. If you are traveling to St. Louis in the near future, we look forward to having you again as our guest and we'd like your next review on our FREE HOT BREAKFAST! See you soon.

Trip Type: Family Review 18 of 87A Pretty Good Experience
The location was great with its proximity to SLU's campus and downtown. The room had a minifridge and a microwave, two amenities not usually included in the price of a hotel room. Standard cable, no internet in the room but a business center of the 5th floor was helpful. I'm not one to complain about minor details but when we arrived at our room, there was a dirty coffee cup left on the floor under the desk. The hotel reps behind the desk weren't always the friendliest either. For the price and location as well as free parking in the city, everything was worth it though.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 19 of 87Nice hotel but needs some improvement
The lobby was beautiful, which gave me high hopes for the room. The room, however, seemed a little dated and there was no hotel information book. The front desk staff was not too great - forgot to give everyone their welcome gift (we were there for a wedding). Having an Applebees attached to the hotel was very nice.
Hotel Response
Thank you for taking the time to review The Parkway Hotel. We recently updated our Beautiful lobby. We have plans for updating our guestrooms in 2010, which consists of plasma TV's and replacing our soft goods. We had just removed our information book from all guestrooms for updates which, like all hotels, takes place annually. The wedding gift bags that are brought into the hotel by the wedding families which are handed out to the families and friends during their check in. Typically the brides do not have individual names on them. Our staff pulls a report for each wedding block of guestrooms. As each guest for that group checks in, they are given a bag that was provided by the bride. If a guest has selected to make a reservation "outside" of the wedding block by going through hotels.com etc. our staff has no way of knowing that the hotels.com guest is part of a wedding group. New Parkway Hotel news! As of October 5th we now offer a FREE HOT Breakfast in our lobby daily. Thank you for your comments and we look forward to having you as our guest in the near future.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 24 of 87we'll stay there every time we visit St. Louis
great location in Central West End. Close to the Pagaent Theatre, which is why we came to St. Louis, for a concert. Easy, close parking, $5 per day. The hotel lobby had FREE: fresh popcorn, coffee, tea, bananas, apples, and chocolate chip cookies!! LOTS of places to eat close by.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 27 of 87Excellent choice
We had all good experiences with this hotel. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff very helpful. There are only two computers in the business center, so one may need to plan around that if checking in for a flight online. Beautiful neighborhood across the street, with many little cafes and coffee shops. Easy access to the metro-about three blocks.

Trip Type: Business Review 28 of 87Ample Ammenities
I stayed at this hotel for business purposes. It felt like a home away from home. Coffee and fruit available at all hours. Fresh made cookies every evening. Within walking distance to the Metrolink, an easy ride to downtown for a ball game or sightseeing. Euclid street is also a convienent walk for an outdoor dinner or movie. An excellent location for anyone doing business at the Washington University Medical Center.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 30 of 87Sometimes Reviews May Be Misleading
I have changed reservation from other hotel to Parkway because of reviews. However, I was very disappointed. The staffs were very friendly upon check-in. As I was walking corridor to my room, the odor from cleanig chemical were so strong that I covered my nose and mouth. The room is decent sized. However, the shower tub was not very clean. Dart residue reamined. What really shocked me was that there were left over used tissue under sheet. I suspect cleaning crew made beds without changing sheets. In early morning, the noise from buses on street was so much it was hard to remain bed. I regretted for choosing room on street side over parking.
