Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 13Lord Nelson
Great location, upscale hotel reasonably priced.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 13Pretty average
The hotel has lovely public areas (lobby), but the rooms are very plain. Our room had a couch, but it was terribly uncomfortable. The bathroom was also very unattractive. The level was that of a basic chain motel, not a high level hotel. That said, the Aveda products provided were very nice. The hotel's location was very convenient to the public gardens, citadel, and old clock. It was definitely a long walk to the water front and the restaurants/shopping located there. I will definitely look into a different hotel on my next trip.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 13Great Location
The Lord Nelson has great facilities and is close to everything. Be aware though, the King Suite is not 2 rooms as you might expect. We were expecting 2 separate rooms or at least the ability to divide the rooms.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 13Lord Nelson
THe room first offered overlooked a noisy rooftop bar, busy street and a burnt out restaurant. I was given a quieter room after requesting a change. The room was not very clean and in general the hotel looked a little down at the heels. Signs were placed outside for valet parking but it wasn't available. When I asked about walking in the neighboood I was advised not to walk after 11 pm. No easy way to get downtown except taxi. My advice, stay closer to the waterfront.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 13A gem in Halifax
We had to spend a weekend in Halifax, both of us completely unfamiliar with the city. The Lord Nelson provided both comfort, and a helpful staff who provided great tips on where to go and what to see in town. It's well-kept and within easy access of restaurants and other shops. This would be the first place I look to if I ever make it back to Halifax.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 13Needs Update
The lord nelson needs a face lift. I arrived with my friends and family at 4:00Pm and no one was around to help our elderly parents with their baggage. When we checked in the desk gave us no information as to where the business center or exercise rooms were. When I got to my room a light was out and I needed to have a service man fix it which was done promptly. The hallways looked like they were undergoing renovation as all the baseboad and some wallpaper had been removed yet no workmen were attending to it. Kind of depressing. The best thing about the Nelson was the location accross from the gardens.
