Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 344Liaison's fine
Nice staff, great lobby/bar, cool decor, nice rooms, but not quite as good as Kimpton Hotels in the DC area. (Palomar costs less and is super swanky.) Parking fees, ridiculous ($45/night). Small tub, always a bummer. Great toiletry products. Bad, greenish lighting in hallways. Nobody looks good in that light!

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 344Cool hotel in a great location.
This was a great stay in the heart of DC. The rooms are very cool and artsy. The staff were friendly and helpful with all our requests - hard to find these days. The downstairs lobby area is always packed. The hotel is within walking distance to the Capitol - you can see it from the front of the hotel. Overall a great stay in a good location. We took the train in and Union Station is in walking distance. What we didn't like was the restaurant, Art & Soul. A lot of hype given the Oprah connection, but very disappointing food with high prices. We ate two meals there and both were disappointments. Too bad, but there are MANY places to eat in the area that are REALLY good. Overall pleasant experience.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 344Better Than I Thought
Okay, the absolute best part is the restaurant where I dined strictly by accident. Absoltely make it a must do. The staff is nice, but they do not answer the phone The bad stuff: parking is $45 dollars which is insane. Also, the rooms need to have someone really scrutinizing go through them for repair and cleanliness, especially the bathrooms.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 344Great location-would stay here again
Excellent location. A few blocks from Union Station. Many restaurants in Union Station-all types and prices. We did take out from a few places and they were good. The restaurant Art and Soul in the hotel is expensive-but comparable to other hotels. There is no complimentary breakfast like other places have. There is a free business center/computer room with 2 computers. Easy walking distance to the Smithsonian museums, Supreme court, the Capitol Building, etc. Easy acess to Metro, circulator bus, and Amtrak from this hotel. Room was comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. Large flat-screen TV but not a lot of channels. Watch out for the bottles of water-I drank two of them before reading the label-they are $4.00 each. No coffee maker in room but if you request one, one will be sent up. Same goes for a small refrigerator. No microwaves. All in all a good place to stay.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 344Overall a good experience and would stay again
Congenial and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, quiet, convenient to Union Station and Capitol Hill, with a favorable in-town rate.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 344Cool Sixties Vibe
We felt like we were stepping into a James Bond movie or at least an episode of Get Smart. Loved the decor, the staff was wonderful and accommodating. And you can't beat the location, the Capitol is in view, it's a short walk to Union Station and downtown--and we ran every day on The Mall.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 344Valet Service
The only problem I had with the hotel was that the valet parking was 45.95 per night. I didn't find out about that when I booked the room but after when I received another confirmation. I believe that price is just too high.

Hotel was nice, but way too expensive, especially considering the outrageous parking fee

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 344Great Room for the money
I loved the decor of the room, especially the beds. Very close to the train station and a short taxi ride to the convention center and other key locations.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 344Liaison Capitol Hill--Affina Hotel
Good hotel for the money we paid. It would not have been worth the huge price it originally goes for. Parking in DC is very expensive. There was a slight musty odor when we arrived, but when the air conditioning was turned on,the odor disappeared.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 344I felt like I was in an episode of the hills
The room itself was great, however, the pool was off limits on Sundays for a pool party that apparently took place every Sunday in the summer. This was not readily advertised and had i had my daughter with me, I would have been extremely upset. Overall, the hotel was very nice but more suited for young singles.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 344Great Location/Great Hotel/Good Value
I had no idea what to expect when booking this hotel online. It exceeded my expectations and I would definitely visit again. The hotel restaurant was fantastic and all hotel staff members were great. The only problem was the closing of the bar at midnight. Just too early!
