Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 69Amazing Experience
The Lancaster Hotel was absolutely lovely. My husband and I went to Houston to see a concert, and stayed at that hotel for the night. It was beautiful and clean, and the staff was wonderful, from the valet out front to the housekeeper who brought us ice, to the late night desk attendant who told us where we could order pizza after midnight. There is a very nice bistro on site, where my husband and I had breakfast in the morning. We almost can't wait for another reason to go to Houston, just so we can stay at that wonderful hotel again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 69Great location
The hotel is charming, the rooms are comfortable, but a little worn. Located in the theater district and everything is within walking distance.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 69Great location, otherwise bland
The location could not have been better for my business trip. However everything else was definitely lacking. It's like spending a night at your elderly grandmother's house - comfortable enough, yet with outdated decor, ancient televisions, non-functioning appliances, funky potpurri at the entrance... Hey, I did like the free apples in the lobby!

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 69Great service, location, but could improve a couple of other items
Truly outstanding service was the stand out feature, though it's a little Internet connection was poor, so not a good business hotel despite excellent business location. Nice place if you're coming into Houston for the Theater or tourism. Small (think european) rooms, but well appointed and clean.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 69Almost perfect
Got a great room rate but found the hotel trying to make it up at every turn -- $30 to park my car each night and $6 for a bottle of water in the room. Had an issue with the reservation upon check in and the desk clerk tried to convince me that I owed him for an additional night. Finally got the manager who saw it my way but none of it was handled very professionally. And what is that smell in the lobby? Ouch.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 69Great Hotel
Great place to stay if you want to be in Downtown Houston. It is in the middle of the Theater District and you are within a couple of blocks of all theaters. Also, within a couple of blocks of great restaurants and nightlife. Historic hotel with a romantic atmosphere. In fact, I asked my wife to marry me at this very hotel seven years ago before heading across the street for Sushi and then the Opera. We came back this time on our anniversity, as we have done a few times in the past, for more Sushi and another show. We love it.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 69Great Room for the money
The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of many hot spots. Our room was spacious, very clean, and elegantly decorated. We were not aware of the cost of overnight parking, however, the hotel genorously makes up for that by providing a hotel car and driver that will take you to the downtown areas that are not in walking range. The staff is very polite and professonal. We have now doubt that we would stay at the Lancaster again.
