The Hillcroft - Guest House

Location. The Hillcroft Hotel is located in Torquay, England, on a hilltop opposite St Luke's Church with south-facing views to the sea. The hotel is in a central but quiet part of Torquay, less than one mile from an array of bars and restaurants and the railway station, and 26 miles from Exeter Airport.

Hotel Features. A Victorian residence converted into a boutique hotel, the Hillcroft Hotel still preserves original features, such as high ceilings with ornate mouldings and the original stable block. The south-facing front garden is pebble-beach themed, and there is a DVD library, complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel, and a massage-treatment room with visiting therapists.

The licensed bar has carved furniture and a free sixties jukebox. A wide choice of breakfasts is complimentary, from Full English, to vegetarian, continental, or fish options, all cooked to order.

There is a laptop available in the bar to connect to the Internet, and copying, faxing and printing services are also available.

Torquay Abbey Sands beach is 0.5 miles away, with swimming, windsurfing and fishing. Torquay Golf Course is two miles distance.

Guestrooms. The six guestrooms at the Hillcroft are individually themed, with solid wooden furnishings in a range of different styles. All have individual heating controls, white cotton bedding, televisions with DVD players, complimentary wireless Internet access, coffee and tea makers, bottled water, and luxury toiletries in bathrooms.

Expert Tip. Torquay's nine beaches carry more European Blue Flags, for water quality and facilities, than any other resort in the UK. Guests can also visit Torquay Museum, which has a gallery dedicated to the life and work of one of Torquay's most famous residents, crime writer Agatha Christie.
