Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 65We love the Franklin Hotel!
I have stayed at the Franklin Hotel several times before and have enjoyed myself every time. This is a asmall, charming hotel with small but comfortable rooms. It is much more like a European hotel than a New York one. A delicious continental breakfast is included with the room and there is a light snack provided in the afternoon. The only drawback to our otherwise lovely room is the size of the bathroom which is minute. In spite of that I would stay here again whenever I could.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 65Cozy Comfortable Hotel
We loved our stay. The rooms are quite small, but the staff is wonderful - friendly and helpful. Everything was the utmost in comfort - beds, rain showerhead, and very quiet. Loved the cappuchino machine!

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 65Romantic ambiance
The room was quite small, of which I was prepared for after reading reviews of this hotel. But it was lovely and charming and just enough for a overnight stay, would not recommend a longer stay. The bedding was comfortable and stylishly done. The wine and cheese reception was a nice touch and the continental breakfast offered was lovely. Highly recommend

Room was small but clean and efficiently deigned. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Appreciated the wine and cheese afternoon receptions and a good continental breakfast.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 65I'd come back - in the winter
I was at first taken aback by the tiny size of the room, but it was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and fine for me by myself. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent, especially the capuccino machine. The only problem is that the window air condition unit was deafeningly loud. I turned it and off opened the window since it was fairly cool outside, but this could be a problem on a hot night.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 65Handsome hotel, recently renovated, excellent service, plenty of charm
I was very happy with my stay at The Franklin. The hotel is nicely located in the Upper East Side. There are two garages on the same street, if you drive there. Upon my arrival, the staff and bellman were very polite, welcoming, and helpful. The antique elevator adds to the charm. The room was New York-small but appropriate. The room was fresh, bright, and clean. Chandelier, plasma tv, modern bowl sink, new tile in bathroom (travertine?), nice shower and toilet - all new in the last year or two. Bed was very comfortable and linens bright white and fresh. Service was excellent. European breakfast was very nice. Walking distance to Central Park, Guggenheim, and the Met. Some nice restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Excellent experience overall and I would easily recommend as an older boutique hotel with plenty of character and great service that was recently updated.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 65Great Boutique hotel value and service
The location and service were perfect for nearby meetings. I didn't attend the happy hour, but love that it was offered. The continental breakfast was a delicious selection of cheeses, pastries, homemade cereals, coffees, teas and juices. The room was elegant and cozy. The toiletries (Bulgari) lovely. Highly recommended.

This hotel is a great Euro-style find in a fun neighborhood. The breakfast and happy hour saved me from having to buy more than one meal a day while I was in NY!

The Franklin hotel has a great entrance and lobby. The staff open every door and attend to all of your needs. My room was clean and stylish. It is also very close to the Guggenheim Museum and Central Park. Enjoy.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 65Great European style hotel
My room was small, but elegantly appointed. I might opt for a larger room next time. The European style breakfast was excellent and I loved the complimentary wine and cheese reception in the evening. My only complaint was that the room was too warm and not adjustable because it was steam heat. The staff had the engineer adjust it, but it was still a little too warm for me. Also, be aware that you must go up 3 or 4 steps to get in - no ramp available.

It was a great deal. It was smaller than I expected, but adequate space for 2 adults. It is in a great location, a block away from subways and buses. The staff was excellent and very helpful.
