Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 25Good room for the Money
It is quaint but it could use new carpet. I was below someone who was, what sounded like, moving furniture in his room all night. If you stay there, stay on the upper level.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 25Great comfortable hotel for the money
The Farmington Inn was an outstanding value. The hotel itself is quaint and needs some renovations. The staff was helpful and very welcoming. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was an additional reason to come to this hotel and the coffee at breakfast was amazing!!! I was visiting family nearby and found this to be a very convenient location. Two good restaurants which were walking distance! You can't go wrong by going to this hotel. highly recommend it -- but remember it is not a chain hotel --quaint and comfortable are the important things to keep in mind.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 25A Little Tired
Although the rooms are large, the appearance is a little worn. This non-smoking hotel smells like smoking is still allowed with a little musty to top it off. Remote buttons are worn blank, doors to rooms are calling out for a paint job, in need of a little TLC.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 25Hassle-Free Stay at The Farmington Inn
We booked a King room online through hotels.com, but when we got to the hotel, they had put us in a double-queen room. I called the front desk, and they apologized, and quickly had us transferred to a king suite, which was very nice. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 25Nice Hotel
Clean room. About 10 - 15 min away from the UConn Health Sciences Center. No gym on site but gave me a day pass to a gym about 10 minutes away. Good eateries around the hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 25Decent hotel with a few B&B touches
First things first: don't expect a super quaint, charming little inn, as the pictures might suggest at first. It's in a great "historic" district, but it's a normal modern(ish) hotel with a few things reminiscent of a bed & breakfast or smaller hotel. It's a big place, though; more rooms than I expected. I say "modern(ish)" because there are a few little things that would be more at home in a hotel about 15 years ago, like normal keys (not keycards). The hallways are a bit dark, and also feel about 15 years old. They're not dirty or dingy. It's hard to put into words. Perfectly adequate for the $$, though. The room was nice enough. The old tube TV looks a bit out of place among reproduction antique furniture. The canopy bed is a nice touch, but the mattress could've been a lot more comfortable. (My girlfriend and I both have occasional back pain, and two nights made us long for my mattress at home.) The light switch next to the door (one of only two; the other is for the bathroom) controls the light above the vanity, which was fluorescent and flickered a bit. The vanity itself was a little small for two people. Breakfast is served every morning until 11. It was fine, though it was running a little low, even by 10:15ish. There were danish and cinnamon rolls, fruit, yogurt, hardboiled eggs (overcooked but not bad), and what looked to be frozen waffles and pancakes. All in all, I'd recommend it, but with a few reservations. They could make a few changes and really increase their rate.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 25Great Hotel
This is a great hotel in a super location. I was very impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the room and hotel in general - but I was blown away by the lovely canopy bed in our room. If you're looking for a lovely New England-style hotel in a nice location, then this is readily recommended. The breakfast was great for our small family with complimentary juice, bagels, waffles, cereal, danish and cinnamon rolls. Not to mention the bananas and apples for later.
