Trip Type: With Friends Review 17 of 543Impressive Hotel
Great location, great service! I've stayed here several times and never regret it. The staff is very accomidating and it's in a perfect location. A $10 cab ride will get you to a great restaurant, bar, or event.

Trip Type: Romance Review 18 of 543there's better out there
i was charged an extra night of valet (we stayed 2 nights with in-an-out privileges of valet but was charged 3). We requested a non-smoking room but got one that had tobacco odor everywhere to the point where we got light headed. Calling to the front desk, we were unable to get a room change, so instead they sent housekeeping to spray a deordorizer that masked the smell for 5 mins. After walking to the front desk and telling them the importance of needing to breathe in our room, she found us a room. The final straw we had was with the shower. After getting out of a shower, i discovered the entire bathroom floor covered in water. At first i thought the toilet was leaking but it was the shower curtain! There was no plastic to keep the water in the tub. Instead it was made out of cloth which the water just absorbed through to the other side and went all over the bathroom. For the money we paid i'd expected much better.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 23 of 543Excellent Hotel
We stayed on the Gold Level. The Hostess was fantastic. The evening and morning foods were very good and lots of variety. We couldn't have asked for anything more or better. We have stayed in a total of 6 luxury hotels in the downtown area of Dallas and the Fairmont would have to come in at number 1.

Trip Type: Business Review 24 of 543Overall very good
Overall a very good hotel. The room was clean, quiet and well maintained. The bed seemed very new and especially comfortable. Check in was a little bit slow (front desk seemed understaffed) and sometimes it took a long time for an elevator to arrive.

I stay at the Fairmont every time I visit Dallas, which is 6 times this year so far. I love the location (Uptown) and the ambience.

Trip Type: Romance Review 27 of 543Good Location and its nice to be treated in a Civil Manner
The Fairmont is within a short cab ride of Victory Park, American Airlines Center, House of Blues and the Arts District. Even though I live in Dallas, it was like a mini-vacation staying at the Fairmont. The staff is excellent. Step out front and they hailed me and my date a cab (on a rainy night) to go to the House of Blues to see a band. After the show, cabs were lined up and it was back to the civility of the Fairmont. The front desk staff offered a good suggestion when I asked about late night room service. There is a good pizza place that delivers till 3:00 am A few pieces of pizza at 1:00 am, watching Sportscenter and sleeping till 10:00 am. Sometimes you deserve a break from reality.

Trip Type: Romance Review 28 of 543Nice Hotel
Nice Hotel... you can tell they renovated the hotel, but you can also tell they missed a few things. The rooms are very comfortable and the view was nice. The closet was huge, which is nice if you plan on staying a while. The bathroom left something to the imagination... they definitely saved money on the fixtures and the water pressure from the shower head isn't very good. You'll pay a pretty price for parking and internet, but overall not bad...the staff was very friendly and there were no major issues with room.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 29 of 543Good Value - Comfortable Stay
The price we paid was a good deal -- thanks to hotels.com. Hotel is beautiful, room was really comfortable. We didn't upgrade to anything special or fancy but it was perfect for a place to come back and sleep or relax while visiting a new city. Best thing was the service from the reception desk and the concierge. They were very nice and seemed genuinely friendly and knew a lot about the area.
