Trip Type: Romance Review 17 of 346the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept on!
Great location, very comfortable bed, cleanly and modern rooms, decent sushi bar off of the main lobby, great bathroom products that we took home :)

Trip Type: Romance Review 19 of 346What an experience!
Every employee was so gracious and helpful during our stay. It was our first visit to Chicago, so we had a lot of questions and needed a lot of help. From the moment we walked in until we checked out 3 days later, it was nothing less than delightful.

I especially like how clean and beautiful the rooms were and the location which is walking distance to the heart of Chicago.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 22 of 346Convenient Location; Inadequate Housekeeping Staff
Due to a "full house" we were not able to get into our room until well over an hour after check in. Then, the only reason we got in was we agreed to take a 2-bedded room instead of the king-bedded room that we had requested. Part of the room (bar area) had not been cleaned (dirty glasses, etc.). Staff were pleasant and housekeeping worked hard, but there were not enough to prepare for the registered guests. Location was great. Area safe. Beds were comfy.

Trip Type: Family Review 23 of 346Great location - walked to everything!
The location of the Fairmont was fantastic - within walking distance to Michigan Ave., Navy Pier, Grant Park, Theater District, and right next to Millenium Park! The hotel service was exceptional, and the concierge was very helpful finding restaurants and directions. The hotel is very close to the L, and we were able to take it easily to see a Cubs game one evening. We are looking forward to returning soon!

Trip Type: Family Review 27 of 346Hotel Great - Service needs improvement
The hotel itself was great - clean room - great decor - great location. However, we were there for 2 days in August without air conditioning, and no acknowledgement of the fact from staff except to say they were working on it. Most disappointing was the service - from bell hop to front desk to concierge - no effort was given to customer service. I would give friends a qualified recommendation, in the hopes that our experience was not the norm.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 28 of 346Okay, but not worth the money.
Beautiful hotel, but doesn't have a lot to offer for the price. Sheets and pillowcases in the room had stains on them, TV remote would not function properly. Valet service truly needs improvement. We payed quite a bit for overnight parking, and it took them almost an hour to bring our car to us when we needed to leave. When we asked to find out what was taking so long, we got tossed back and forth between bell hop and front desk, with no answers.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 29 of 346poor service
After reserving our room at the Fairmount I called to request a crib, refrigerator and adjoining or at least a close room to friends of ours. While I know these things cannot be guaranteed the person I spoke with on the phone assured us that she had lined up 2 rooms together and the crib wouldn't be a problem but the refrigerator was first come first served, which I totally understand. We arrived early for check in and if we were willing to wait we could have our adjoining room so we waited. When we finally did check in we were 3 floors away. The front desk had told our friend that we insisted on checking in early so they had to move our room. After waiting for our room they told us that it was our friend who insisted on checking in early so we were moved. Neither of us checked in until after 3 pm. After getting to our room it took 45 minutes for them to bring our bags up, a separate call to get the crib (which they informed me that it was my responsibility to remind the front desk to call housekeeping). Other than that, the hotel was clean and in a good location for what we wanted to do. We will stay elsewhere next time as it is not a kid friendly place. (which it does not bill itself to be, so not their fault..)Probably would be nice for a couple. Keep in mind that parking at the hotel is $49/night and a continental breakfast is $19/person.
