Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 385November Review from 2 day guest
Rooms are a slightly smaller than expected but it typical for a city room. The room was quiet, bed was VERY comfortable and you could tell only high end mattress, pillows etc. were used. The staff was very courteous and helpful with directions and recommendations to restaurants and overall a pleasent experience. Parking is not included and a $2.50 bottle of water actually cost $4.50 after their restocking fee and tax (which was a little misleading) but I found that typical of a city hotel.

Hotel was great, clean.. rooms are a little too small.. but other than that everything was great. the iPOD dock was cool.I liked that the doors locked after 10pm. sense of security.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 385Good value
I was perfectly satisfied with my stay at the Ellis. The staff was helpful and courteous night and day. One morning the restaurant was understaffed and I had to wait a few extra minutes but it wasn't a big problem. I ate breakfast there twice and enjoyed the food. The Ellis is within easy walking distance from the convention center. Others have mentioned homeless people and derelicts hanging around outside the hotel. I saw none of that. The area is well-patrolled and I felt safe. My room was very quiet although I was not on the front side where the traffic is. I loved my bed. Very comfortable! Nice bathroom fixtures. Room was a little small but I was by myself so that was no issue. Overall, the Ellis fully met my expectations. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 385Beautiful
The architecture and feel of the hotel was modern and warm. The front desk, doormen and restaurant staff were all professional and nice. If you're not a walker it's a flat $8.00 taxi ride anywhere in downtown.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 385Great Place to Stay
I recently stayed here for 5 nights because of a conference at a nearby, more expensive hotel. I was SO pleased by the friendly and professional service, by the comfortable bed, organic restaurant, and how helpful everyone was. The only downside was my room was on a main street and was a little noisy. They of course, offered to switch my room to the quieter side of the hotel, but I preferred the view where I was.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 385overall good hotel
Great location and customer service. Rooms are very small, but nice. Bed quite comgortable, but not as good as home. We had a small leak in a bathroom pipe. Did not receive extra regular coffee pkts as requested (happened 2 days). Overall, good experience, would stay again.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 385Elegant, clean, and friendly
I highly recommend this hotel for people needing to stay in the downtown area. My stay lasted a week and the service was excellent at the valet, front desk, restaurant, and even the maid service exceeded my expectations. The rooms are simple, yet elegant. Internet was included. The restuarant was expensive, but the food was of top quality, well prepared, and supported by friendly, professional service. They have a complimentary wine tasting in the afternoon/evening. I will be back!
