Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 436"Great Location"
We just got engaged this past weekend and we stayed at The Dupont. Overall room was very clean and neat. No safe to store the ring in though...lol! Ok, all joking aside...we had a little trouble with the heating and cooling at the hotel (I'm sure this had something to do with it being 28degrees Fri and then reaching 70degrees on Sat). Brian, the manager at The Dupont comp'd us an awesome breakfast for the HVAC problems...thanks Brian!!! Great food places to check out: Kramerbooks-bookstore in front & fantastic eatery in back. Also, check out Larry's Incredible Cupcakes and Ice Cream!!! THE BEST CUPCAKES EVER!!!

The Dupont Hotel was one of the best hotels I've stayed in a while, and the service was unrivaled. From the heated floors to the knowledgable staff to the hotel bar, everything made my stay worth repeating!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 436HVAC needs attention
Most disappointing was the HVAC system. It was 62 degrees when I checked in and the thermostat would not work. Engineer came and said the switch from cool to heat was not funcioning. He "fix" it and it warmed up but it stopped functioning the next day with no air circulation. Very disappointing.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 436Great value
Outstanding rooms and location. Very courteous and helpful staff. Only drawback (and mild at that) is a very quirky shower which spills out on bathroom floor. Great value for the money. All traces of the old Irish hotel are gone.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 436A fun change from the normal hotel chains
My wife and I booked this hotel after looking at the reviews and views online. We found it to be a fun alternative to the normal hotel chains. The design of the room and bathroom is innovative (European features??) which we enjoyed. Yes, it is "cozy" but we found it enjoyable as a couple. We experienced a problem with the first room that we were placed in--water around the window, apparently from an AC problem. But, with a quick call to the front desk, management proved responsive and courteous. We were moved immediately to another room allowing the maintenance problem to deal with the problem and for our stay to not be disturbed by this issue. Though the food at the hotel was very good (we had Sunday brunch there), it was expensive. There are many excellent alternatives for eating that we were directed to by hotel employees within walking distance. The hotel was "friendly" to our plans to enjoy a bit of DC before catching a later afternoon flight--storing our bags upon our checkout and calling a taxi for the quick trip to the airport. The free freshly squeezed lemonade in the lobby was tasty and refreshing! All in all, I'd likely stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 436Great Stay Overall
We arrived and our room was not ready. The front desk graciously apologized by offering us free drinks and upgraded us to a suite for all 3 nights! Despite a little snafu with housekeeping (took old towels and bathrobes and forgot to bring new ones), all in all it was a wonderful stay. Great neighborhood with great dining and shops, and the Metro is a block away! Be careful to not request the Park view, as is was a bit noisy withi the circle traffic. Did quiet down after midnight, but not for the light sleeper! We will definetly be back!

Very nice hotel. Recent renovation so everything appears brand new! Modern decor is beautiful. Right on Dupont Circle. Close to Metro. Two stops to many DC attractions. Perfect location. Great stay!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 436beautiful comfortable hotel room
Initial reaction when walking into the room was great. it looked clean comfortable mondern/trendy. Bathroom had little privacy but it was still cute. There was a little window in the shower which was the only ventelation. (room got very hot when someone was in the shower) But the overall service was excellent. Door men/bell boys all were a great help. best service ever.
