Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 450Awesome Hotel
Found this hotel on a 24 hour hotels.com 50% off sale. We booked the premium bay view room and WOW! At half price this room was a steal. My 6 year old said this was the best hotel ever with the best views. Both my boys loved sitting on the balcony watching the boats on the bay. We had problems with our safe and toliet, called the dest and both times someone was in our room to fix the problem with in 30 minutes. Everyone there was very friendly. The wait staff at the Blue Pearl were wonderful. They were always smiling and loved talking to our boys. The location is very central to everything and very easy to get in and out of. We will stay there again next time we are in San Diego!

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 450Nice place to stay and play
We went for the B&B package and we were very happy we did. The staff at the Blue Pearl were very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was always served hot and tasted good. Good job Anna and crew. We were in the Bay View area and our room looked newly renovated and service was great. We were here for 4 days and the only negative comment I would have is the confusing city street layout and street signing around the hotel. I finally figured it out on the forth day we were there. I was aware of the nightly parking fee, but only because I read a review that mentioned it. I felt the parking fee was a little steep.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 450Not a 3 Star Hotel
While most of the employees we encountered were great, there were many drawbacks to this hotel. 1. We paid for a Marina view room. However, since we were on the bottom floor, our view was completely obstructed by cars, bushes, & trees. 2. We tried to get the interenet set up in our room and were unable to, and no one on the entire hotel staff was able to help us. 3. There was a dead bug in our shower. Which leads me to wonder when the shower was last properly cleaned. 4. Our toilet didn't flush properly so we had to open the tank and tinker w/ the string to get it to flush (everytime). 5. At breakfast, I was served my meal almost 10mins before my husband received his. As w/ most of the hotels in this ares, The Dana is relatively old & it shows. I would not rate this a 3 star hotel, more like a 2 star. Overall, it's not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, but, in the future, if I were staying more than one night, I would look elsewhere before booking w/ them again.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 450Quiet, Comfy, and Family Friendly
We just got back from a 4-night stay at The Dana and had a great experience! We stayed in a bayside room in the newer part of the hotel. We were on the ground floor and our patio had a private "gate" that opened onto a huge grassy park area -- just what our three-year-old needed after 5 hours in the car. We loved the complimentary shuttle to Sea World and relaxing dips in the heated saltwater pool after a long day of seeing the sights. The Blue Pearl restaurant on site has a small but serviceable kid's menu (mac 'n cheese, chicken fingers, Mickey Mouse pancakes, etc) so our daughter was happy -- we ate in the restaurant once but they also provide the room service which was really nice and relaxing (worth the splurge to sit on the patio and watch the rowing teams practicing in the morning while we ate our breakfast). The grounds were beautiful and the parking for the bayside rooms was room key-entry only (so only the people in those rooms could park there) and very close to the room. Although it was "off season," there were many other families there enjoying both of the restaurants, the pools, and the grounds. But even though the hotel seemed well-occupied, if not full, it was very quiet: no rowdy kids running around, no slamming doors at all hours, no loud disturbances of any kind (and we never even heard our neighbors, even though we had them on both sides as well as above us). We thoroughly enjoyed the serene atmosphere. It was just what we wanted! Overall, we were delighted with our experience and would highly recommend The Dana to anyone.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 450So Close to Seaworld and the very best view!
I stayed at the Dana and it was less than a mile from Seaworld!!! I was on the third floor facing the bay in a deluxe room and the view was FABULOUS!! Highly recommend the bay side. I did have a giant stain on the carpet, which seemed out of place because the rest of the hotel was very well manicured. Hopefully they fix that. But the staff was great and the room was very nice. I would definitely stay there again! :)

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 450View was awesome
Room was very clean but for one of there better views i did expect it to be a bit bigger.Over all it was very nice and i didnt have any problems with it.also it was about 2 mins away from sea world. Its not really by any store though so picking up some food before going there is a good idea.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 450Great Stay/Location
We love Mission Bay/Bellmont Park. Because of the location, hotel room rates are quite pricey. Add taxes and parking, not so affordable. We loved are stay and can't wait to go back.

Very satisfied--we enjoyed our stay. The Blue pearl restaurant is excellent. The eggs rancheros and the eggs benedict were delicious. We will return. Just one final note that, in this economy may bring in more guests. It would be great if you would reduce or eliminate the parking fee and allow free wireless internet service.
