    After a week on a cruise, we splurged on a larger room, and it was well worth it - great beds and bedding, large round table and high end chairs, four-star bathroom, beautiful woodwork, colors and fabrics. Helpful staff, especially Jimmie, their charming bell man. They need more staff, however (front desk phone unanswered, etc). Good restaurant and bar downstairs. Good, hot room service.

Location. The Colonnade Hotel is located in the Back Bay district of Boston, Mass. This property stands adjacent to Copley Place and is one block from the Hynes Convention Center. The theater district is four blocks away.

Hotel Features. The Colonnade Hotel offers dining at Brasserie JO, a Parisian-style bistro that prepares regional French cuisine. The restaurant offers an extensive wine list and beer brewed from Alsatian hops. The Art Deco-style Rooftop Pool restaurant serves light dinners with a focus on American-style fare. A 24-hour business center offers fax, photocopy and print services for a fee. A total of 13,000 square feet of function space accommodates events. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in the lobby. The limited-hour fitness room contains cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, and free weights.

Guestrooms. This 11-story property offers 285 renovated guestrooms decorated in tones of espresso, khaki and chocolate, with splashes of purple accents. Rooms display a harmony of geometric patterns, blonde woods and chrome fittings. Beds flanked with individual reading lights feature pillowtop mattresses, down comforters and 330-thread count linens. Select rooms are furnished with sofa beds. Marble bathrooms contain bathrobes, makeup mirrors, rainfall showerheads and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Single-serve beverage makers brew Keurig gourmet coffee or hot chocolate. Expert Tip. The Colonnade Hotel offers a seasonal outdoor rooftop pool, a rarity in the city of Boston. The pool is surrounded by wooden decks furnished with lounge chairs and umbrella-shaded tables.
