Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 371Ok hotel with a great restaurant
Friendly staff; we had problem with the safe but they replaced it promptly. Shower tub was very old, peeling, and flaky with old cigarette burnt and I was disgusted by it. The rest of the hotel was cute and colorful. The restaurant was great for the buck. Perfect small portion and delicious food!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 371Nice Hotel
Loved the decor of the hotel. Its not too large....really nice and quaint. Yet, my bathroom tub needed replacing....the bottom looked dirty, but I think it was simply from being old and overused. The pool was really nice.

The on-site restaurant was a delightful surprise -- one of the best high-end burgers I ever did eat!

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 371The Clarendon experience...
Purple painted hallway walls, art deco interior and staff... bed was comfortable, room was very clean. Like the espresso machine in the room! Walls too thin to keep out the sounds of very amourous couples!

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 371Loved this hotel
We are fine artists from Santa Barbara on tour and loved this hotel! It is definitely in trend and a welcome relief from standard offerings. The roof top lounge is a must - we caught it at sunset, spectacular. Restaurant is excellent as was the margarita that we had by the pool which in itself is an art form. Bed was luxurious, robe a nice touch, large flat screen HDTV and Aveda products...have already recommended it to friends. It is where we will stay in Phoenix.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 371Lipstick on a pig
This place tried really hard, but I constantly thought of the 2008 campaign saying: "you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig". This place had a lot of lipstick, but the TV made a screeching noise and died and the AC sounded like a lawnmower. I should have paid another $50 for one of the chain resorts nearby.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 371Great Hipster Hotel in Downtown Arizona
I loved this hotel! I am a young professional and appreciated all of the quirky details of this "hipster" hotel--the great pool, the great music at the pool, the great restaurant, the great music at the restaurant, the great roof deck bar, and the great music at the roof deck bar. The savy staff who were really helpful, pointed me to great spots to check out in Phoenix and dressed in their own clothes and not some stuffy obnoxious uniform. Huge bonus for me, NO CHILDREN. There was no policy against children, it just seemed that the average hotel guest was younger and sans-family. Which made my business trip all the more pleasant!

A/C went out after two nights of not very comfortable room temperature. Staff did move my room and were pleasant.

The renovation looks unfinished. Coffee maker in my room was very dirty.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 371Needs improvement
Got this hotel last minute for a one night stay. Entered my room but was humid inside with a under-functioning air condition. Controls inside the room did not work. No fan inside room either. Needed to iron clothes, no iron inside room. Called room service for it, did not bring it after 15 minutes of waiting so had to call again to get it. Location is kinda sketchy and out of the way a bit. Would not stay at this hotel again.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 371Horribly Hot!!!
We stayed 2 nights and hated it. They have upgraded this hotel quite a bit. Its really very modern and decorated nicely. What the huge problem is, is that they didnt replace their AC units. Both nights it was absolutely the hottest inside the room then one could ever imagine. I complained repeatedly to the front desk and all they did was bring us another fan. A fan that would just move that hot air around the room. We didnt get any sleep at all and had a long day at the Diamondbacks game and then had a very long drive home. You would think they would have fixed the coolers way before purchasing all those decorations. The night we got home I called to complain and vertually got no where. Even after the hotels front desk told me that Hotels.com would refund my money, because they had a guarantee. Well I'm not happy with my stay and didnt even so much as get a "Sorry".
