Cavalier needs a facelift

The only thing this hotel had going for it was location. It was situated right on Virginia Beach. Other than that it was old, tired and needed a make-over. Things were worn, chipped, unraveled and in poor condition. You get my drift...

Pricey and Old Hotel

We were at this hotel for just one night and so I think it was ok for that. The hotel seems old from inside and the rooms feel the same. Also this hotel is at the end of the boardwalk so you need to walk atleast 10 blocks to get to the fun area on the stretch. The swimming pool looked old too.

Needs lots of improvement

Beds are hard, bathroom room gets stuck, so if you are alone in the room, you might get stuck in the bathroom unless you really push the door open... Too expensive and the food is to pricy... Never again will I stay here. It is so far from everything (except he beach of course)

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

This hotel needs improvemnt for their cleanliness especially with the bathroom. Bathroom faucet is very outdated and the ceramic tile surround the faucets are cracking. Everything esle is just ok, not really worth 3 star rating.

Good for only hotel left when booking

This was the only hotel left in VA Beach when we booked at the last minute. The rooms are a little outdated, but clean, and the staff was friendly. Don't stay here if you are used to high-end hotels, but makes a European hotel look like the Ritz. They do themselves a diservice by stating that they are located 1 mile from the boardwalk--it's actually only about 1 block. The north end location makes it very quiet as well. We would stay here again.

great room for the money

I was disappointed in the Kids Club and game room. The game room did not offer much and what was there was old. The Kids club hung out in the game room all evening and the movie they watched was on a very very small TV. They should really find a new location and definately refurbish it.

Very clean and Great Location to Beach!

This hotel was a little old. The bathroom could use upgrading / rennovation, but the rest of the room and the hotel ambiance over was nice and the staff was great.

Ok

The hotel was overpriced for not on the boardwalk and you did have to pay $7.50 for parking at the hotel site but there was free parking close by. But the jet noise was very very loud so if the sound of freedom does not impress you then you will not like any hotel on VA Beach.

Needs Improvement

The air conditioner leaked a lot on the balcony and it also made a terrible noise. Ice machine on the 8th floor where our room was did not work. We had to pay 7.50 to park in the hotel lot. Otherwise our car would be on the hill at the old Cavalier and they would provide valet service. When you pay all that money for a room, I dont want to pay additional for parking.

great location, very friendly/helpful staff and very clean.... i would recommend the hotel to my friends and family.

Enjoyed our Stay

The room was clean and everything worked fine. Breakfast service at the hotel restaurant was all buffet. The variety of food and quality was good. Property is on the beach, but is a short distance to the end of the boardwalk. The beach was real nice and was not overcrowded. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Outstanding Service

From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond. They called cabs, checked on restaurant hours, etc. We didn't have to do a thing when it came to plannng our night. Very friendly staff. Great beach access!
