    Directly on the Indian Ocean. Beautiful old world feeling just like they said. Very good price. Nice dining room.

    The hotel is old but well kept. The part that is old is that it has real hard wood doors and door jams and furniture that is stained and shiny and beautiful. The restaurant is of highest quality but not the highest price. Those working there are gracious and helpful. We stay there every chance we get when in Durban, South Africa. If we do not stay there , we make sure we have some meals in the restaurant. Jalene R.

The Balmoral is a modern white-painted hotel, housed in a grand historic building with an imposing stately façade, overlooking the famous Golden Mile beach. The 95 guestrooms have modern décor in neutral shades of beige and brown, with carpeted floors and dark wood furniture. Rooms with sea views are available upon request. Amenities include satellite television, minibars, toiletries and tea/coffee makers.

The Waterfront Restaurant, serves an extensive buffet of international dishes as well as an a la carte menu in a dining room with views of the beach. Multilingual staff on the 24-hour front desk can exchange currency help with advice on the hotel and the surrounding area. There is valet and garage parking service, and snacks can be ordered from 24- hour room service. Durban International Airport 20 kilometres away.
