    The hotel was great! The staff was friendly and helpful when I lost my cell phone. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was spacious. The location was great for doing anything in Boston. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Boston.

    I was very happy with the hotel. The room was very comforatble with all of the amenities. The only amenity that I expected and did not get was an in-room coffeemaker. I was told that one could be rented fro the length of my stay, but I thought that it should have been included. Otherwise, I enjoyed staying at the Back Bay and would definitely return.

Location. The Back Bay Hotel is located in the Back Bay district of Boston, Mass. Copley Square and the John Hancock Tower are positioned two blocks from this property. Boston Public Garden is located four blocks away.

Hotel Features. Water flows alongside and underneath milk-glass steps that illuminate a staircase leading to The Back Bay Hotel's marble-floored lobby. The on-site Stanhope Grille features an exhibition kitchen and seasonal outdoor dining on a sunken plaza. The restaurant serves American-style grilled favorites and traditional Irish breakfasts. Cuffs, An Irish Bar, features a two-sided gas fireplace and a burled cherry-wood bar. The bar serves Irish brews, martinis and wines by the glass. Il Barista offers coffee, specialty drinks and pastries. The hotel's business center is open 24 hours. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the property. Recreational amenities include a complimentary, 24-hour fitness center that contains treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical trainers, a weight-training machine and free weights. Room service dining is available 24 hours a day.

Guestrooms. This 10-story, smoke-free property offers 225 contemporary guestrooms decorated in ivory, mint and copper tones. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses and are dressed with 350-thread count Italian-cotton linens and down duvets. Marble-clad bathrooms include heated towel racks, makeup mirrors, telephones, terry-cloth bathrobes and Aveda toiletries. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combinations, showers only or separate showers and bathtubs. Most bathrooms feature rainfall showerheads.

Expert Tip. The Back Bay Hotel took up residence in one of Boston's last Italian Renaissance Revival buildings. For 70 years, this building served as the headquarters of the Boston Police Department.
